I leave £2.01 in each of my Reward accounts. Enough to cover the two £1 DDs and leave a penny balance.

I've just opened up a Halifax Reward Account. Out of interest, what do people here do with regards to leaving a balance in the account? I know £750 must go through and 2 DDs out, but do you leave about £750 there each month or do you leave just enough to cover the DDs? The "interest" rate looks attractive on the £750 as is, but I suppose it's tempting to just take the £5 and save much of that £750 in another high interest rate account.

You can put the £750 in, and withdraw it strait away to another account, should you wish, it won't make any difference. All that matters it that £750 has entered the account once per calendar month.

Got my £100 today after the switch completed yesterday from an unused Lloyds Vantage which had no DDs, SOs or even a debit card.

I too got my £100 today, day 8.
    The switch completed yesterday.
I switched to an existing HFX Current account from a Co-Op account with one SO set up on it.
My three existing Reward accounts are still intact and no questions were asked!

When you swtiched did not they ask you the DC number and expire date. WHen I switched my NW to existing Halifax current account yesterday they asked about this. Fortunately, I still have it so it was not a problem ...

Yes, but my donor account was only used to save money so I chose not to have a debit card.

On the Halifax switch application, you can enter the card number if you have one, or tick "I don't have a debit card".

I have had a Halifax reward account for some years now (no £100 bonus in those days) and get my regular £5 each month and was under the belief I could only have one single account in my name, see T&C on Halifax website,

    (b) Up to two account holders on an “either to sign” basis only. You can hold one Reward Current Account in your sole name and one in joint names.

Now I come across comments like, “My three existing Reward accounts are still intact and no questions were asked” so can I apply for more (confused?)

I have a Halifax current account which I have had for over twenty years. Can I open another, and if so, am I entitled to the 100 pounds switch?

You might be able to open another current account with them - check the T&Cs of the account you are interested in.

However, in order to get the switching bonus, you do not need to open a new account. Just switch into your existing account, and as long as you meet the T&Cs (not had incentive since Jan 2012 etc), you should get the switching incentive.

Thanks. I am also in the process of switching an account to a new Reward account. Would this affect my current account switch bonus?
