Me and the hubby have had to have serious conversations about where we see ourselves in a years time. This has been brought about as we have an inkling that our Landlord is looking to sell our rental property, basically our estate agent came round to do a valuation under the guise of our annual inspection (he was more interested in taking measurements of the rooms, I only found out about the landlord wanting a valuation as I asked the estate agents outright). The landlord is obviously within his rights to sell the property but wished he had just been honest although maybe he just didn't want to spook us.
We hate the area we are in now so we knew we wanted to relocate to another area completely.
So after a few conversations we decided that we wanted to relocate to Cumbria. Our tenancy is up in March so we have nine months to save as much money as possible we could save around £600 a month that should give us both a bit of breathing room for a few months too (we will both have to quit or current jobs). I will also be speeding up the process of starting up my own business (I want to make and sell Pet supplies) so at least it should be bringing in some cash when we move. So I will be purchasing a sewing machine probably in end of August as we want to put an initial £1000 in the savings first, this should also give me enough time to research sewing machines, materials and to set up a website etc. We are also selling everything that we don't want to cart 300 odd miles up the country!!That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Firstly, happy birthday for last week! Hope you had a great day and I was glad to see you allowed your self a meal out!
Secondly, huge congrats on the weight loss that's amazing but you totally deserve it from the huge effort you have put in!
Thirdly, wow Cumbria, what an exciting change and I wish you the best of luck with that!!! Sounds like you have a great plan to put into action!! I would love to be my own boss so I wish you every bit of luck in starting a business!
OMG I was having the best week food and exercise wise, feeling great, then yesterday my boss very kindly took me out for lunch but we had indian and wine and ate LOADS! I felt so unwell afterwards my tummy was fo full, but was such a nice meal and its always good to catch up with him out of the office! So this morning I went for a run, had a healthy brekkie and have a healthy lunch in front of me right now. I have picked Fridays as my weigh in day so tomorrow will be the moment of truth!Santander 0% £1,529.94
Sainsbury's 0% £4,371.31
Total 0% £5,901.25

Thanks, you have to let yourself have little treats now and then otherwise you go insane. Thoroughly enjoyed it especially the rocky road sundae!
Starting my own business has always been a dream of mine, moving to Cumbria has given me the push that I needed. Also my mum started up her own business up there she has been going for a year now (she is a dog walker). My dad also has his own business and seeing how they have both managed to do it has given me the courage to as well. So I have a fount of useful knowledge that I can use.
We are hoping to buy in a few years and we are priced out of where we currently live and the surrounding areas, Cumbria is more affordable. Basically we can't see a down point of relocating there! Although the next few months meal plans are going to be interesting, beans are going to be playing a big feature in my meals. Cheap and nourishing is the name of the game!!
I wouldn't worry too much about the splurge, and like you say you have carried on the healthy eating today. Let me know how you go.
I need to get back to my exercise, I'm having dinner with a friend tonight as a belated birthday treat and then I can start to get back to a normal routine. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

oooh good luck with the move ! Cumbria is a beautiful part of the country
Re - Sewing machines. I have bought my first machine around a month ago (am a total newbie) and bought this one. Cant recommend it enough. Its really straight forward to use .:T

Thanks for the recommendation. Can it go through thicker materials? Basically I need to be able to make collars, leads and pet bedding etc.
I have a sewing shop in town and occasionally they have reconditioned industrial machines for £250-£300 added advantage that you can try before you buy. I would like to get one of these as they can pretty much go through anything but I am unsure whether I want to put down this much as an initial outlay at the start of the business. On the other hand at some point I will have to invest in one? I am gathering materials to take down to the shop so I can give some of the machines a test drive.
I can't wait to move, it's not until March next year. I am trying to be patient and not wish the months away! Oh well researching and setting up the business should keep my itchy fingers busy!!That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

its good for jeans - and would ,most likely be ok for bedding but not for thicker materials. You would be better to get an industrial machine for that.
This was a useful website when i was looking for my machine . I think testing them out is a good idea though

Yeah I have a feeling I may need to fork out for an industrial machine. I'm hoping to buy a second or reconditioned machine otherwise they are selling for £600, and that just makes my eyes water! I think I may test out and see if I can find the same model online for cheaper. Well first I need to make room for it and get to selling. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!
