You don't seem to be low carbing anymore, are you just trying to eat healthily?
  • Not intentionally but definitely just trying to eat healthy. I needed a break from eggs in the morning and porridge was a good alternative. Although been a bit slack on the breakfasts since I have got back from holiday so trying to make an effort to get back into this.
Am trying to up my walking as well by 1000 steps a day. Went for a nice walk along the river again today.

  • I did weigh in this morning at 11st 8.2lbs loss of 0.8lbs (didn't have time for measurements) but I am not going to count this as I wish to move my weigh in days to Wednesday. I'm hoping that this will help to keep me motivated through out the latter part or the week and also the weekends. I seem to have loads of motivation on a monday and by friday I am ready for the weekend. Saturday is a no holds barred day and Sunday I try to recoup. I want to start to break this pattern as I find I am ruining all the hard work I put in to the rest of the week.

I have been thinking a lot this weekend about how I managed to keep so slim when I was younger through very little effort. Remembering back all I did was walk and the one hour PE lesson a week. So I decided to calculate roughly how much walking I used to do and I walked 6 miles just to and from school so roughly 8-10miles a day once you factor in walking throughout the day. I didn't have a very healthy diet back then this is mainly due to the school food on offer, I think the only vegetables or fruit I had was at home.

At the moment I am averaging at 5-6 miles per day so it shouldn't be too difficult to try and increase my activity to the 8 miles over the course of the month. Bulking this up with my weights. I burn on average 1800 - 1900 a day and I estimate that I will be burning 2000 - 2100 by upping to the 8 miles. Also with a better diet.

Why dont you weigh monthly. Id also consider getting advice from a PT about diet and fitness, how to get the best results.

Its ok having the odd cheat meal, but if you are having a no hold barred day then its not surprising that you aren't seeing the losses on the scales.

The bottom line is, you either want to make changes or you don't.

If you are happy with your inch loss and your fitness, that's totally fine, but if you do want to lose weight then the eat all you can on a saturday, you really need to consider whether as you say, your Saturday blow outs are ruining the rest of the week.

I know its tough, Im 25 kgs down from mid 2013, but I have had to burst myself with exercise and clean up my diet to do it, if I hadnt done that, Id still be the same shape and size I was back then.
  • I'm trying to break my weekend pattern which I am finding tough. I know this is one of the reasons why the weight is coming off slowly and back on. Have had the problem of self sabotage most of my life. I know what I should be eating but sometimes its hard.
One of my aims this week is to plan my breakfasts and lunches at the weekend the same as I do during the week and really look at what I am eating. I eat well and make reasonably good choices during the week but weekends I struggle. It doesn't make me feel very good either which is why Sundays I do damage control. I would rather not have to do it at all.

I am focusing on my health but I would like to see some of the weight come off too. I do want to make the changes, I am not happy as I am.

L: turkey and veg red thai curry with brown rice - a new paleo friendly food stall has opened up by work https://www.nayturesintent.com

I was just under the 6 mile mark and thought I am going to be doing an extra walk tonight to bring it up to 7. Trains were up the swanny so ended up having to travel to the next town and walk home from there. Job done! Although was late home.
