No standard template but lots of examples to base yours on if you look at post 3 of newbiem thread and find the magic words "How to win at POPLA".

Use the one that suits your situation the best and put your draft here.
Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. As above - amazed you missed it so far, Luke, if you've read the Newbies thread. There's even an Excel example in 'How to win at POPLA' waiting for you to adapt & use.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

I have been told to pay the £100 before the 23rd August, is this when my right to appeal to POPLA also expires?
    Thanks

read the NEWBIES thread one more time

where it has the link to the popla code checker, use it, put your code in and the details will appear, including the expiry date, no more wondering, solid facts from 10 seconds work

then the link in post #3 takes you to numerous examples you can adapt, use the excel one like CM says and adapt it in notepad, meaning 95% of all the work is done for you , the other 5% is your adaptations to personalise it

it really is that simple in this case
  • Hi

I've not sent in my appeal to POPLA I know this is late on my part... But I've been away and a lot going on.

Can I still appeal to POPLA?

    Thanks

It depends on whether it is still valid. What is the date it was issued on? You have 28 days from issue.

Why do these places bother with this system. In Spain, where a few supermarkets do charge, you take a ticket on entrance and the person at the check out validates it when you pay, you show it to the bar code reader on exit and Robert is your father's brother.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

if it is past the expiry date, then the answer is no

so the actual question is, when is the expiry date ?

use the NEWBIES thread to find out

you were told this in post #10 , by me
  • the offical letter of rejection was dated 8/8/14

so 28 dasy would have been on the 5th? is it 28 working days?

When I put the popla verification code into the pola website it directed me to the appeal details....Didnt say the code had expired. Is that ok?

If I appealed could I say details why it is just over the 28 days, give details as I was abroad etc...

you need to put the code etc into the parking cowboys code checker on their website, not the popla website

all you are doing at the moment is confirming you havent read the newbies thread properly, if you had you would have used the cowboys checker like I told you a month ago , especially post #3 as the checker is at the beginning of post #3
