Excel parking @ iceland

Hi Guys

Having only just successfully got a Parking Eye ticket cancelled. I am unfortunate to have also received a parking charge notice from Excel Parking.

This is for apparently not paying and splaying at Iceland. I know this is not true, Firstly I can't remember if I was the driver or another member of my family but I do know when we go to Iceland we always pay the £2 and then get it refunded a the till so there is no reason for us not to pay and display.

The contravention date was 24/6/14 apparently and says car stayed for about 20 mins.

The notice is dated 03/7/14 and obviously its over the 14 days to appeal but I only received this parking charge notice yesterday as I wasn't at home.

I don't have the iceland receipt or a pay and display ticket as proof....

Please advise me, thanks again for all the help!

You'll just go through the same process agian - but now you know how easy it is to win.

Get your 'soft appeal' in AND
do put a strong complaint into Iceland - tell them their parking harassers could be causing you to be shopping elsewhere if they don't get the ticket cancelled (let them have copies of receipts/redacted bank statements to back it up). Who knows, Iceand might give you a gift voucher to make up for the troubled caused (ASDA do!)

Put in your appeal that they have exceeded the 14 day notice period which is required where a windscreen notice has not been issued.

the first post isnt clear as to if its been delivered late , or not

if its dated 03 july 2014 its deemed as received say 2 days later and so could be within the 14 days required

in any case, get the template appeal delivered to excel in the 28 days allowed which is by the end of this month, so this week , ie:- ASAP

    Hi

The alleged contravnetion date was 24/6/14
The Parking Charge Notice is dated 03/7/14

So I presume it is within the 14 days?

I do not have any receipts or the Pay and display ticket used when parking. But I shall send in the template letter as advised previously.

    Thanks!
  • Hi Luke123456

Thanks for your time. Please tell me, do you have a bank statement showing the Payment to Iceland on the day of "ticketing"

    Many Thanks in advance

Sent appeal via email and post

Unfortunately no receipt, so just sent the standard template letter.

    Will keep you posted

    Thanks!
  • Hi

I have received a reply from EXCEL Parking saying they have received my appeal and rejected it.

They say that I failed to provide a full name and serviceable address for the driver within the 28 days as stipulated on the PCN

It looks like a standard 2-3 page rejection letter. I have been given a POPLA Verification code.

I will scan and post here as soon as I can....

    Thanks!

    not really needed

just start drafting your popla appeal from post #3 of the NEWBIES sticky thread link

also check the code is valid and its expiry date
  • I have just entered the code in the POPLA site and it seems to be working is getting me to fill in an appeal form

What basis do I apply on? There was signage there (whether this is adequate and enough is another matter), I always pay and display in Iceland as I say just I don't have a receipt or ticket to prove it.....

    Please advise asap

I have been told to pay the £100 before the 23rd August, is this when my right to appeal to POPLA also expires?
    Thanks
