Lets not forget that the current conflict was caused by Hamas attacking sleeping children in Israel using their stockpile of over 10,000 rockets.

    You are kidding right??

You're right. I forgot about the three Israeli kids kidnapped and murdered by Palestinians while playing football.

Awful. Deplorable is the murder of the Palestinian teenager in Jerusalem. Making him drink a flammable substance and then setting him alight from the inside.

These are individual acts of extremists, that live among the population. Should the ordinary civilian suffer because of these acts?
Should the British civilian suffer because of the despicable acts committed by Tony B liar?

    Agreed.

However lets look at the reaction of the two governments. Israel has charged three people with murder. Whereas the two Palestinian suspects have mysteriously disappeared, and
Hamas spokesmen Sami Abu Zuhri and Fawzi Barhoum criticized the PNA collaboration with Israel to track down the culprits,[208] and Barhoum called the kidnappers "heroes".
    and
Palestinian Fatah and Hamas activists called on Palestinian shopkeepers and businessmen in Hebron, via Facebook, Twitter and other social media, to destroy any CCTV footage that could be used by Israel to help locate the teens. Fatah activists in Hebron also confiscated security cameras in order to frustrate the search.[212]

Are you still trying to score points? We could argue all day about half baked inquiries and cover-ups. If you think Israel is innocent, you would be seriously misguided.
Take the case of Tom Hurndall. It was only because he was British that we heard anything about what happened at all. A Palestinian and we would have, at best, heard propaganda and lies.
In fact, it was exactly what what attempted. But it was not allowed to lie.
Do you imagine that was a one-off occurrence?

Even the sniper involved said that there was a policy to shoot unarmed civilians.

    Nope. Wrong again.

This conflict started when one country gave the people of another country, the land belonging to a third country.

If you think you can start the clock whenever you want, think again.

Well if you want to go back in history, lets go back about 3000 years when Judea and Samaria (ie the West Bank) as well as the rest of Israel, and most of modern day Egypt, were part of the Kingdom of Israel.

Sorry, but no arbitrary re-setting of the clock in 1948. Palestinians are relatively new interlopers.

  • What kind of a world would we live in if we could lay a claim to land because we believed our ancestors lived there thousands of years ago? That is such a twisted logic. Shall I kick your family out of your home because I believe its mine?

I suppose you belive the Palestinians just appeared out of no where then?

So why arbitrarily reset the clock to 1948? Why not 1848? Or 1748? Or -1048?

Listen. We both know that depending on what time you pick, both groups have claims on the land. Which is why both sides need to agree a peaceful division of that land, or there will be bloodshed on both sides forever.

Probably that division of land to be based around the current borders (ie where people live today), but with additional land given to the Palestinians equivalent to the difference in square mile area between now and 1967 e.g. I am sure another three miles along the whole border of Gaza, which would add 50% to Gaza, would help improve the quality of life there. Maybe even declare that new area a UN demilitarised zone, so someone independent can verify no tunnels or rockets, giving Israel no excuse to go back in there with the army.

Yes there will be unhappy Israelis giving up kibbutzes around Gaza (as there were in Sinai and in the West Bank), as there would be unhappy Palestinians giving up the Israeli parts of East Jerusalem, but any solution will never please everyone.

You are ignoring the fact that internationally agreed law states that you cannot inhabit land taken in war.
Israel has flouted that most basic tenet continuously.

You also state that this particular conflict began with the kidnapping of the the three Israeli teenagers.
But the truth is that you only heard about it because they were Israeli.
You probably didn't know about the Palestinian teenagers who were murdered the month before

By the time an escalation occurs, Israel will claim that they were attacked without provocation.
But most of what occurs, you will never hear nor read, unless you specifically care to look.
Being pro-Israel, you will simply accept what they tell you...as if they are some kind of comic book hero.

Palestinians and Arabs are demonised with well oiled propaganda, as if they are unreasonable and somehow inhuman.
