US and European airlines halt Israel flights

Im using "you" as unless im mistaken you seem to be supportive of the Israeli attacks on civilians in Gaza, whether you attribute deaths to them or not.
I think you have an unhealthy obsession with Hamas. The trouble is I've been around to hear enough excuses and scapegoats. In the 80s it used to be about the PA and Yasser Arafat. Then it used to be about suicide bombers. Then it used to be about Hezbollah. Now its Hamas. Each time the excuse is given that there is no partner for peace. Its pretty clear that Israel doesnt want peace but just the latest bogeyman to blame. They even sought recognition through the UN for Gods sake, a completely peaceful move (which incidentally is exactly how Israel was recognised) and still you oppose it. I guess you wont be happy until you drive Palestinians into the sea.
To prove it, I'll make a simple point. There are no rockets coming from the West Bank. Why is it still under illegal occupation?0 -

Road Map for Peace, proposed by the "Quartet" comprising the United States, Russia, the European Union, and the United Nations, envisions an independent Palestinian state in these territories living side by side with Israel. However, the "Road Map" states that in the first phase, Palestinians must end all attacks on Israel
Not exactly close to that are we?
Quick question - do you consider that the estimated 600,000 tonnes of concrete used to build tunnels was used well? Or should it have been used to build houses, flats, hospitals etc.
How many houses or flats could that concrete have build? Is it any wonder there is an embargo of concrete?

I won't be happy (with the Middle East situation) until both Israel and Palestine are peacefully co-existing. While Hamas are building reinforced concrete tunnels with a primary purpose of killing or kidnapping Israeli civilians, and firing missiles every other minute at Israel, this wont happen.cool_dude_2000 wrote: »I guess you wont be happy until you drive Palestinians into the sea.
Remember the Hamas charter calls for
not exactly a sound platform for peace.....although I guess peace is the last thing Hamas wants.the obliteration or dissolution of Israelillegitimi non carborundum0 -
And one more question......what about the other parts of pre-war Palestine? Aren't Hamas interested in those? Or is it just the bits that the Jews are in that they want?

Why are you so obsessed with Hamas as though they have been the obstacle all along? They were only formed in 1987, and there was decades of occupation before. What happened then? Did these bad men suddenly appear in the midst of Israel handing back the Palestinians their land and their rights?
Like I said, its a Smokescreen. Today Hamas, next week another bogeyman to blame. And by the way, before you say it, no, im not a fan of Hamas.
And there are no displaced people in Transjordan as a result of another colonial power taking over their land. Its the land and houses that were forcibly taken away that should be given back.0 -

And in regards to the Road Map its pretty clear that a Palestinian state would never have been accepted. So much for Hamas' Charter.

Lets not forget that the current conflict was caused by Hamas attacking sleeping children in Israel using their stockpile of over 10,000 rockets. Is that shameful? Or is the above quote a naïve one-eyed view of the conflict? As is it not the right and duty of a sovereign state to root out and destroy that stockpile? And if human shields are killed during that process, is that not the fault of the people using human shields by deliberately siting those rockets in civilian areas?NiftyDigits wrote: »illegitimi non carborundum0 -
In the mean time....
All UK flights to Tel Aviv are flying at the moment.
ElAl allowing flexibility on date changes for flights scheduled before 15 August.
Easyjet allowing changes within 14 days of departure for a change of destination of credit of flight cost.

Did you watch the video?? He said that there were no weapons found at any of the UN sites that were attacked by Israel and that Israel was given the coordinates seventeen times.
So let's drop the propaganda about human shields. Seems that you are happy to swallow any lie told by the Israelis.
How ironic that you suggest that my view is "naive" and "one-eyed". You blindly defend the atrocities perpetrated by Israel....in the way that only an extremist would.
A balanced view would not attempt to defend atrocities committed by either side.
Which sleeping children were killed by rockets fired by HAMAS, before Israel began killing Palestinian children?
Why do you bandy about words such as Terrorist? Modern Israel was founded on Terrorism. A Leopard cannot change it's spots.
Do you think that the Palestinian civilian does not feel terrorised by Israeli gunships firing into their streets.
The fact is that *creatures* such as yourself, simply don't care until it happens to you....then you start screaming like Banshees with shouts of Terrorism. Israel is a Terrorist State given legitimacy by the capitulation of the British after the Second World War.
Now of course, you are our "Ally in the region".
So you are given 'military aid' to kill even more children. What a crying shame. Everyone who has an alternative view is labelled, 'Anti-Semetic or a 'Terrorist'...whilst the real terrorists are hiding in plain sight.
HAMAS perhaps don't help themselves with their actions, but that does not make the mass murder perpetrated by Israel in any way acceptable.
The fact that you attempt to justify each and every despicable action by that terrorist state(IMO), (laughably labelled 'democratic' as if it brings legitimacy to it's actions) tells me enough about your inability to reason.
Terrorism is terrorism. Just like the US attack on Iraq. The innocent Iraqi people where no less terrorised, than a British or USA citizen would be if someone did the same to us.
You they would be labelled terrorists, whilst we would put some heroic slant on exactly the same or worse action by ourselves.
Naive and one sided? That is you.....
Take a more balanced view.....if you can.
* I use the word creatures, as you lack basic humanity.0
