Lucy very unwell

Just brought Lucy home. Vet gave a couple of tablespoons of food and a drink of water and she kept that down so happy to allow her home.
Got some anti emetic liquid for her to start 10pm tonight and some special gastro intestinal food for a few days, little and often, and some probiotic stuff to put in her food.
She chewed her drip out so they had to put it in the other leg and put a Buster collar on so she couldn't get to that too, so both legs shaved.
She looks a million times better than this morning though and if she can just go without being sick tonight I'm hoping she will be ok. She could barely stand upright this morning but her tail's wagging again tonight thank God.
I have to go back with her if she's not 100% by Wednesday but fingers crossed, she will be fine.
Thanks to you all for your good wishes. There are some truly fantastic people on here.0 -
Glad she's home and on the mend - there seems to be a lot of nasty bugs in the ponds etc now that the hot weather is here.:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

I'm glad that she's improving. Cats and dogs dehydrate so quickly in this weather if vomiting, that if anybody else is in the position of a badly vomiting animal in weather such as this, I would get in touch with the vets asap.DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. She's still very lethargic tonight.
Vet said to giver her two tablespoons of food every couple of hours and she was eager for it - and kept it down - when she first got home tonight.
Refused the two tablespoons I just offered her though.
Gave her the anti sickness stuff and she seems to have perked up just a little.0 -
Maybe the food isnt very appetising? Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Try to old tested plain boiled chicken - just the meat with no skin/bones. On its own or mixed with plain boiled rice.
Whenever Zara was unwell, this is the only thing should would eat and it will not cause any upsets etc.
Fingers crossed she is better tomorrow and keeps on getting better xxx0 -

Took Lucy up to bed about 10pm - she has her bed in our bedroom.
She was very restless, panting and gasping. Then about 11pm she vomited again. I cleaned her up and changed her bedding.
She vomited three times more then suddenly leaped up and ran downstairs where she threw up just about every last scrap of fluid inside her. She wanted to go out in the garden so she's out there now and I'm up with her, sitting by the open back door where she can see me.
I'll take her back to the vet first thing.
I'm starting to get a very bad feeling about this. Unless there's a miracle, I think Lucy might be in big trouble.
Please keep those positive thoughts going for her0 -
Staying up all night with her. Just waiting for the vet to open at 830am. She's really very ill.0
