Lucy very unwell

My dog Lucy is really unwell.

She went into a muddy river on Friday afternoon and to my horror, drank from it.

Saturday evening she stated vomiting which lasted all night till she was throwing up yellow bile.

Yesterday morning she managed to keep a bit of water down so I thought she was going to be ok. I didn't offer any food as she was still very lethargic.

This morning she took a drink of water and immediately vomited it straight back up.

I phoned the vet and have an appointment for 1130.

Lucy will be 12 next birthday and I'm worried sick.

Please can you good people think positive thoughts for my old girl?

Thanks

Poor Lucy - hope it's something easily sortable. Healing thoughts coming her way.

Fingers crossed for Lucy - try and think positive - her being sick etc is her bodies way of getting rid of whatever yukky stuff was in the river. Hope she'll be ok.

Thanks so much for your kind thoughts.

The vet said Lucy was severely dehydrated so they have kept her in and put her on a drip to hydrate her. They said the most important thing is to get fluids into her and they will give her an injection to stop her being sick.

If she can drink and keep it down by 4pm they will allow her to come home.

If not, they will do blood tests to find out what's going on with her.

I really do pray she will be ok.
  • Keeping everything crossed for Lucy .... hope she's home & well again soon

Maisie's a horror for drinking from puddles when we're out :( - worries me everytime (and she's had a few tummy upsets I'm sure have been caused by doing it)

Hope the drip has done the trick and shes feeling brighter now.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
