In our park lake (not the one my Lucy went into) they've had signs up for a while warning of the blue-green algae. This algae isn't visible and many dog owners are just ignoring it.

But in the last week or so, the ducks have all been dying and we now hear there is botulism in the water. The signs have been amended to reflect this and the added danger to dogs...and owners are STILL ignoring it! What more can be done?

I can't understand the mentality of some people. Still dogs in the water here too. It's killing the fish in the fishing lakes now. Notices up everywhere and still dogs in the water. It's gonna take an actual death before they listen

You're right. Owners who would never normally put their dogs at risk seem oblivious to the dangers despite them being spelled out to them.

There's no way either of my dogs are going anywhere near a lake, stream or river. They can go in the sea but that's it!
