Which was exactly my point. People are saying on here that you should have opened the door. I don't think it was safe to open the door, since there were splinters flying around and they were using a chain saw to cut through the door chain. People are being impractical.
Imho, you did the right thing, taking cover while the police used excessive force, and certainly unnecessary force, since you have already said you would have let them in, to get through your door.0 -

It's very rare to find a thread where almost all the responses are in agreement.
Doesn't that tell you something? Is it the whole purpose of the raid to gain access as soon as possible???

You obviously didn't read this comment from me:
Actually, in that article, it does say that
So the Police obviously had the option of knocking on your door rather than breaking it down but they must have considered your son such a potential risk to their safety that they decided that breaking the door down was the best approach.
The Police entered your property in the manner they believed was the most appropriate to ensure their safety from anyone who was inside the house. No more comments
You chose to post on a public forum where other people can respond with their opinions.
You can't bring this to a stop whenever you feel you are not getting the support you obviously expected to get.0 -
...I see that I have made some mistakes, sorry
Yes by harbouring a dangerous drug dealing gang member. This resulted in a Police raid, your door being smashed down, following first class Police Intelligence, that identified your son as a habitual drug dealer, by complaining about the Police doing their job excellently, by complaining that you have to pay for the damage, by accusing the Police of being racist for targetting 'foreigners' instead of whites and by posting your infant like mewing on a forum about benefits. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -
This has to be a wind up. No-one can be that stupid, rude, stubborn, in complete denial and there are no reports anywhere of such large scale raids taking place, as has been pointed out. If the police needed chain saws (which they do not use) to get through the door it must have been a reinforced door, the kind druggies install. The OP would be better carrying on making popcorn for us all. Bet she's a bundle of fun with her neighbours :cool:0

O/P initially said her local Police Station was Belgrave Police station which is in Birmingham. Her local Police Station is actually Belgravia in London.
There are no reports of raids in Birmingham but there are in London. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -
This thread is classic.... just sums up a portion of societies attitude.
I am assuming this was not a raid for a few splifs.
kick your son out and pay the bill. Tell him to get a job. A legal one at that.0 -
Oh and by the way, unsure what country you are from(you said your family were in police force abroad)
Uk police are far more gentle than many other countries police forces0 -

And far less easier to bribe unlike some countries where bribes and kickbacks are considered the norm. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -

I can probably imagine that every parent of all these gang members are collectively saying their child is a good boy or girl, that they are studying hard and have several job interviews, that they have been led astray by a white criminal in a big flash car, that they had only just started drug dealing and after dealing a few times (all to undercover Police Officers) they stopped a month ago because they were turning their life around. That the nasty Police should have realised these 20 or so gang members were minnows in a pond of sharks and should have targeted the white guys in the big flash cars instead of these poor foreigners. These nasty Police must be institutionally racist for only targeting foreigners. That they should have politely knocked on everyone's doors until they were let in. Perhaps they will next complain about Police entrapment as all these gang members only dealt to undercover Police Officers and no one else. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0
