I replaced my 15 yr old Silentnight sprung mattress for a http://mammothcomfort.co.uk/. Doesn't get warm like a normal memory foam, and is mega comfy!

:shocked:Bumping up the thread as I'm going cross eyed with the bewildering range of mattresses!!

I've sort of decided either on the Hip Hop wooden frame (king size) from bensons

    Thank :-)

I considered the Hip Hop but a small double size. I was put off by some of the reviews on the Bensons site.
  • Thank you :-)
  • Hey Polgara72, if you don't have a large budget I'd recommend this mattress finder. Unlike some of the others it doesn't limit you to one brand, and there's a variety of prices available.

I tried it out but had to guess some of your answers and it seems to recommend either latex or memory foam topped pocket sprung mattresses. Sounds like your current one is a little too firm so if I were you I'd opt for a medium rated comfort level with the aforementioned criteria.

Thank you so much for this! It wouldn't work on my iPad 🙄, but it's come up with a few I've considered.

I've just been into bensons and LOVE the Hip Hop frame. I actually haggled with him!! I've never haggled....

Trouble is, the mattress is a bensons own brand, so I can't really compare it. It's the easi-pocket memory 1050.
  • I've looked up the easi pocket 1050 and it's probably suitable but it's not worth the 400 odd quid they're charging for it! I wouldn't pay more than £200 for that particular one.

Thank you! There's a Costco offer on: £249.99 for a Dormeo memory deluxe mattress (ks).

The blurb on the Dormeo website says this:

'We've taken our best selling Dormeo Memory Mattress and made even deeper and softer. And you’ll notice immediately how much more comfortable your Deluxe Memory mattress is.

Our Memory Deluxe mattress has double the memory foam, 3 quarters of which is sewn directly in to the cover, giving you the most comfortable and supportive night’s sleep imaginable. It diminishes tossing and turning, increases blood circulation and aids muscle regeneration whilst you sleep. Supporting the memory foam layer is 16cm of our uniquely breathable Ecocell® foam – the Dormeo difference. Ecocell® is designed to be permanently elastic with a 3 dimensional cellular structure, providing the perfect support for your body, whilst keeping the mattress fresh and cool all night long.'

But what on Earth is Ecocell??,
  • It's basically just the foam the mattress is made from. It's a big chunk of foam with a layer of memory foam on top. At the price you can get it from Costco it's worth the money, but not at full price.

I got a mattress from amazon called harper luxury king size memory ortho mattress, firm. £119.99 Love it, Neither my husband or I can fault it. We got it last August, no roll together, he's ten stone heavier than me. Its a very heavy, well made mattress.
