Are Tempur mattress decent?0

Wouldn't really know, never slept on one or had any contact in great length with one. We don't sell them.
They certainly are very good quality in terms of the foam that they use we have a sample of it in our shop.
Those who like them seem to say that they love them. Have heard reports of being hot on them as when you sink in you are completely surround by foam, which can make you hot. But everyone is different.
I also wonder how much of it is the placebo effect? i.e You convince yourself that "I've spent over a grand on this mattress it must be good"
The only bed I truly 100% ever recommend is a waterbed.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
Had a look at a local independent furniture place, seems they only do. Tempur and are expensive. Went to Bensons, tried a few pocket sprung mattresses as that is what I've decided on. Best was a 1500 spring mattress which is made by a Relyon for £549. Are Relyon a decent brand?0

Relyon are pretty decent, strange that non are on the Bensons webiste.
Although this is a half decent mattress for the money too.....http://www.newlandbeds.co.uk/Restus_Saturn_1500_Pocket_Sprung_Mattress.htmHelping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
no it doesn't state Relyon on the website, they must change it for their showroom. When we asked the manager told us the natural 1500 pocket sprung was made by Relyon.0

Also benefits from having a non memory foam but sleepable side underneath, therefore you could turn it over if you got too hot.
Or can you suggest a divan base with storage? He doesn't want anything board at foot of bed. He's quite tall, not heavy. Also wants it delivered to outer London hopefully Monday week. Thanks very much,0 -

Ideally he wants storage under. Budget max £350. Wondered about just a simple wooden bed with slats, and use plastic boxes under, rather than divan base. Thanks for the link bsms - think may be it isn't strong enough for him? Good simple style though.0

Acually have now found the mattress Pinky suggested - the Silk 1000, is available with the base and including a large end drawer, for total £288, which seems really cheap - the mattress on its own is £264 - unless I am reading it wrong.0

Do you have a link to that, sunflowersuffolk? Sounds ideal for one of my offspring who will be moving out shortly
