    Sorry guys.

Been MIA as getting over jet lag then I turned 36 yesterday so was away with friends over the weekend which was great but I'm even more exhausted now and barely slept last night!

So, plan, well, it's really nothing much more than what I had planned at the start of this year on my other thread other than focusing completely on me and not worrying about men or the future (in terms of biological clock). So, plan is to get the "perfect" body by Xmas (that plan could only really start today as the weekend just gone was always going to be boozy and foody!) and to run a 10k (which I have actually signed up for and entered). I'm going to be getting myself lots of massages, facials and treatments and just basically fully focus on me

Work not too bad ATM as has calmed down and I can't do the course I wanted to do for various reasons so for the moment need to stick with that job but will also review that at Xmas

    Bit boring really!

  • Not boring at all! Glad that you're going to focus on you. You deserve it! Hope you had a lovely birthday, even if it was exhausting.

Also glad that the job has calmed down a bit - are you going to be able to do the course at a later date, or is it off the cards altogether? x

  • thanks Giblet! Have to say, only just recently caught up with your thread and been meaning to message to say really sorry for what you're going through at the moment and big hug but will PM you soon anyway.x

I think I can realistically only do it if it has a part time option or if I take a year off to do it sadly.

I'm glad I've given up with men. Went on a date fri and looked promising as he texted next day saying let him know if I fancied dinner and now he's gone radio silent (I did text).

So, anyway, towards my plan (which also includes saving as much as poss) today I have: (1) had a protein shake for breakfast, (2) brought lunch in and am (3) going for my first run in months post-work and (4) going to a friends tonight to watch a film with the girls and she's providing dinner

  • So, today has been a good day even though I had to drag myself out of a depression which was due to too much booze at weekend and being tired. Managed to take my lunch in so no spend. Managed to get myself interested in a text book on new area of law I need to crack and hence motivated. Forced self to run for first time in weeks and actually stuck to the programme. Then went to a friends to see girlies and had dinner there (which was healthy plus I said no to wine) and a fun evening!

Now for bed and hopefully a restful nights sleep as up at 530 for training session!

  • Sorry to hear about the rubbish man lula, and thanks for the kind message. Glad you're back and focused, but don't give up just yet - I'm betting your Prince Charming is out there, waiting / looking for you.

Glad to have you back :) x

  • So, have fallen off exercise wagon due to being too tired and not done anything since run tue but have training tomorrow am and planning runs sat and sun so that will still be 3 runs this week

MSE wise been quite good. Bought a stamp yesterday but old boss took me to lunch and paid (I offered as he paid last time but he wouldn't let me). Other than that, spent nothing as dinner from stores. Today breakfast and lunch have been from stores and I have a work event tonight which is free drinks (however I am driving to avoid booze) and hoping there will be canap!s which is free dinner.

Got home at lunchtime (as probs with boiler sadly so god knows what that bill will be!) to a cheque from CPP for £61.47 so that's good as I had gone slightly over this months spending budget, what with holiday, weekend away and cattery fees but I should just about break even now and we get paid tomorrow so a whole new months budget

Am thinking of paying for boiler out the tax rebates I got which came to almost £1400 (well, I say tax rebates but only £400 was an actual rebate, the rest was refund of penalties when they accepted my appeal so money which really should have gone into savings) which was going to spend on house as figure it is "house stuff". This weekend out of that money I'm ordering curtains, rug, side tables and lamps for the lounge and a canvas for the kitchen - one of my other plans for rest of this year is to get my house the way I want it (cost permitting obviously) so it's nice to come home to. Means also I'll need to give it a bl**dy good clean starting this weekend - been doing the old "drawer a night" this week as a start

Date from fri finally got in touch last night asking when we were having dinner. I've said sat but really I'd like to stay in this weekend and not spend on fancy dinners out but not sure if will be up for going out next weekend as going into hospital tues for an op under general. He's only here for 3 months (though may be able/want to extend his contract) so I'm sort of in a "what's the point" mood

  • So, had a bad couple of days. Went to event and managed not to drink until about 830 when fell off wagon then ended up getting hammered. No idea how I got home as complete memory loss and spent £27 on drinks

Meant missed training yesterday morning (I actually forgot to even set an alarm) so £30 wasted as still have to pay if miss it without proper notice

Felt crap all yesterday and did no work and ate rubbish

Stayed in last night and spent £17.60 on a Chinese but at least no booze and early night

I HAVE to stop doing this. It is not good for me.

Got up this morning and did a run so about to go and do chores. Need new trainers but parents sent me £200 for birthday so that will well cover those

Have date tonight but really can't be bothered and thinking of cancelling as also means will spend loads as well as drink

    Should I cancel?

  • Hi Lulabelle, it depends what the date is. If it's with someone you'd like to spend time with and they'll cheer you up then go. If not then why waste your time and theirs - they might be thinking the same, so why not have a lovely night in on your own.

You could always say you are ill and rearrange.

Good luck with the decision. SS x

  • Thanks ss. Prob is am not sure as only had 1 date with him and it's a bit of a drunken haze so thinking give it a second date and see.

Did my WR shop and spent nearly £80 somehow. Telling self that covers all next weeks breakfasts, lunches, dinners etc and had to get extra stuff to bake cakes for work and spent £8 on running magazines but I enjoy reading them and if they motivate me then that's a good thing

Now got to get some bits from b**ts though can't be bothered as it's hot and just feel like sitting in garden

Being MSE though I did force self to come home for lunch rather than go sit in a cafe and spend £10-15

  • Well why not go and see. Who knows the man of your dreams may be somewhere around tonight and you aren't going to meet them at home. Why not go with the aim of having a fun night, no pressure, just do something go somewhere you'll enjoy. Expect nothing more and you won't be disappointed. You sound like me when I was 34, I was looking everywhere, then a friend introduced me to her ex-step brother and the rest as they say is history. Married one year later, baby another year later. Sometimes what you are looking for is a little closer to home.

Hark at me talking a load of carp. I'll get the white Zinfandel out in a moment, that'll shut me up.

Have a great night out - I'll enjoy it vicariously - oh those were the days. :-) SS x
