they said he wasnt insured.. they started talking about PLI and when I asked about basic car insurance etc they started getting aggressive. It doesnt matter anyway i'll go to citizens advice.

Thats what I was asking.. Is it not their responsibility if they are putting him in touch with pupils.?

. like I said I didnt think that a driving school could promote uninsured drivers..

Even if they did (and I doubt that your instructor did not have fully comprehensive insurance on his car), this still does not make them responsible for your financial loss.

No instructor would fail to insure his car, if it was in an accident he couldn't work and would suffer a huge financial loss.

    On the receipt issue.

Earlier posts will have told you that you are unlikely to get a refund without a receipt.

Although, having a receipt may not help if there is no money in the estate.

I honestly thought that the Driving school was at fault, like I said the manager admitted that my instructor wasnt insured and that he should of checked that out (whatever insurance he was talking about) so I just assumed that that made them at fault if they are admitting they didnt check him out properly.

I'll go to citizens advice and see where I stand.

    Thanks for all the info.

Why stick to just buses ?

Being able to drive gives you alot of freedom to go where and when you want and not have to rely on buses that stop at say 11pm. You have just had a bit of bad luck with this, ask your friends if they could recommend an instructor.
