  • Morning, I have decided to do the speed food challenge. Yesterday I did 11 speed foods of those 3 where super speed.
So with this in mind my menu is as follows
B- strawberries, pear, satsuma, apricot and FF natural yoghurt
L- sweet chilli noodle - tomato, cucumber, spring onion, lettuce, carrot, fish sticks
D- chicken chasseur - has 5 speed foods just not sure of them all

So it'll be at least 14 speed foods today.

Syns will be cheese biscuits 5.5syns and a freddo

    Hi all,

I'm joining! I'm new to SW and hope to lose a stone and a half. Last week was week one and I was gutted to gain half a pound :( However, weigh-in day is Monday, and the day I joined my friends came to stay. I was with them a lot and wasn't able to figure out SW properly, so I started it properly on the Friday. I was still gutted I gained because when I started properly n the Friday I really stuck to it. ANYWAY. New week, and it's going well I think. Here is what I ate today (I'm a pescatarian, btw):

Breakfast- Muller Light with 1 Alpen light (1 HEX b) (junky breakfast- I struggle with this meal)

Lunch- 2- egg omelette with spinach, mushrooms, onion and a tbsp of cheese

dinner- tuna steak with new potatoes and onions fried with soy sauce and frylight with 4 raw carrots

snacks- 2 eggs, 2 oranges, 1 diet coke, 2 bottles sparkling water, tea with milk (HEXa), loads of sugar snap peas, Alpen light bar (HEXb 2)

syns- sliver of a cake my son made- I synned 4 as it was literally a sliver. 1 curly wurly - 6. 1 sugar in my tea. Syns- 11

Does this look okay? I"m eating so much- maybe too much?

Whats a pescatarian please? Never mind, googled it :-)

WI - STS not happy as stuck to plan but have had tummy issues so not totally unexpected. Didn't have as much curry this week so back to it in the coming days. Thank you for the chart Annie :A
Today hubby fancied a full English so bought it all yesterday then realised didn't have sausages in freezer like I thought so he will have to get today. As this moment in time nothing is happening, he is sat on his !!!! with his ipad so will probably have nearer to tea time instead of the brunch planned
Might go have the roast chicken that's already cooked as son did that when he got up early this morning.
Hubby also gave me some crisps last night which he said were ok for me, took him at his word but when tummy started I looked at the packet and they had gluten and wheat in . Cue painful night and not a lot of sleep :( he was sorry though:p.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday and the forecast rain doesn't cause too big a problem.
    Keep the faith all :A

Shell Belle - the speed foods in the chicken chasseur are chicken, shallots, carrots, celery, mushrooms & tomatoes, so 6 in total - assuming it's the recipe on the July magazine.

TIE - a pescatarian is someone who eats veggies & fish but no meat.

My menu today is EE and is very similar to Shell Belle's!

B - SW fry up, bread
L - sweet chilli noodles with prawns
D - Chicken Chasseur with mustard mash

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - sweet chilli sauce 3; butter 2. May also have a fruit split this evening for 3
    Snacks - fruit

    :hello:
I'm assuming you're doing Green plan from the amount of HEXs. So, looking at your menu that's 2xHEA (milk and cheese) and 2xHEB (tuna and Alpen Lights). You should be measuring your HEXs so 90g of tuna and the amount of cheese will depend on which type as with milk. You'll soon get the hang of it. Just ask if you need anything.

You're never annoying! Good to see you back.:)

Well done on all those SFs and SSs shell. That should really shake things up.

    My EE menu for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shreddies, HEA milk, strawberries
L: either ham and pickles or soup (have queasy tummy at the mo so not feeling like anything)
D: roast chicken, roast potatoes and parsnips, green beans, cauli, broccoli, carrots
    Syns: gravy, stuffing?, weekend wine:)

flutterbyuk, I think you're asking if the cheese or wholemeal bread you have when eating out can be counted as HEXs. if that's so then yes you're right. Unfortunately I never seem to find wholemeal sandwiches just plain brown or granary which aren't the same.:( maybe it's different in your neck of the woods.

I don't know if others have noticed but SW recipes in the magazines always used to say things like 'deduct 6 syns if using as a HEX' but they seemed to have stopped that now. No idea why.

As for your other question, there is a section on the website about eating out. Do you have access? It lists specific restaurant chains. Then there's the more obvious stuff like asking for salads without dressing/JPs without butter etc.

Thanks maman, yes that's what I was asking! :)

I looked through the website last night and found some info, but I find being a veggie it's hard to find out stuff as it focuses on meat or fish dishes. But I will stick to pasta or sushi, or save my syns for a Pizza Express Leggara pizza (the one with salad in the middle) which is around 20syns.

Just started SW (I joined Wednesday evening), think I am doing ok but what do you do if you don't want a "B" choice???

I'm trying to avoid bread (well have to really) as I've no wholemeal bread until my shopping is delivered! lol

    Following EE if that helps.

    Thanks

If you miss it out occasionally there won't be a problem but as they're part of a healthy meal plan you should try to have your HEXs. There are loads of alternatives to bread which should be listed in your book or on the website e.g. cereal bars, tinned fruit, oil,, tinned soup, crispbreads etc etc.

Great that you can eat so much isn't it!! I'd make sure you get some SFs into you though as well as free food.

Are you keeping half a HEB for later? (curious why you synned Alpen Light).:)
