Is there a new recipe thread as the link on page 1 takes you to a very old thread?

I think the recipe links are shared when we have a new thread.
Don't think there is another one, some great recipes there though.

Hi all, quick syn question please. Red leicester cheese [Tesco own], mozzarella light [Aldi], cooked chicken breast? Want to see which has less syns then can decide what day im having lol.

Also made a vat of dyno rod soup, used butternut squash instead of leeks, carrots and parsnips as didnt have. Also used 2 tims of five bean salad as dont like kidney beans so picked them out [made nearly a whole tin of them]. Can't say I'm impressed with the colour :o. That has gone in the freezer for afternoon snack when I get home from work next week.
    BBL with menu.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • Sending hugs shala, I know how awful insomnia is :( I didn't get to sleep until 5 and then slept right through my alarm. Woke up VERY late, decided I needed some shopping. I've just had my all in one lunch/dinner lol. I'm going with times as I have no idea which meals they're supposed to be :rotfl:

3.00 PM: couple of squares of melon, hifi bar (HEB), water.
6.45 PM: cheese and broccoli pasta n sauce, salad, Pepsi Max.

Am I right in thinking that today could be a green day? I might have cheese on toast later if it is. I also need to fit in some fruit today.

Syns: none yet, but I bought French fries (4.5) and curly wurly (6) so might have those. I'll update tonight.

Well done to all the other losers :)

I weighed in last night and I lost an incredible 5.5lb, this is incredible anyway but considering whilst on holiday I had a few off plan meals and puddings I am really please.

Also I got my club 10 last night as well.

    That's fantastic! Well done :T

No problem, I'm going to Turkey in the last week in September. It'll be my second time this year. I just love the place.:)

Turkish breakfasts are fine for SW provided you avoid the bread! Typically they have plenty of tomatoes and cucumber and feta type cheese. Often there's fresh fruit too, usually melon. I always have my tea black in Turkey so happily have some of the cheese as HEA. My usual hotel also does unlimited boiled eggs. They do yogurt as well but not sure of fat content. When I was getting to target I took a pack of crispbread with me to have instead of the bread which is white, fresh and far too yummy!

For other meals there are masses of salads available. Fish is plentiful and basic shish kebabs tend to be small amounts of lean meat (generally lamb). They do lovely casseroles, probably some oil in them, but generally they taste very wholesome. Mezes are delightful but rather oil laden.

I love Turkish food but, as everywhere, there are usually some British dishes on the menus. Easy to have a steak or an omelette. I have found places doing jackets or new potatoes but that's not common.

I don't know what you like to drink. I'm not a fan of Turkish wine so I tend to have local gin & tonic. Sadly the resort I go to doesn't have diet tonic although I have seen some low cal drinks in supermarkets. You'll find yourself drinking masses of water, essential to keep yourself hydrated.

Now I'm at target I tend to go off plan on holiday but it is an easy country to eat healthily, especially vegetarian.

Have a great holiday when it comes.:)

I'm another turkey fan, and definitely agree it is easy to do SW there.

They do really good salads, if you like fish - your on to a winner as it is plentiful and really nice. There is the usual chips, fried breakfasts as well etc but if you try and ignore that and stick to steak, fish, salads and veg you can't go wrong. At the same time don't be too strict you are on holiday and you deserve to have a few little treats so make sure that you factor those in as well!

I am a gin drinker as well but on holiday switch to vodka as Diet Coke seems to be the only diet drink that they have sadly!!

Heading for a gain tonight I'm sure but hey its all right as I know why. Time to get refocused today and start getting ready for the next challenge!

    Thank you SO much!
maman, I'll be going the week after you!
Breakfast is included and the buffet looks great in the pictures. Thank you for your advice. I should have mentioned that I don't drink alcohol or eat seafood (allergy :( ) but I can always have steak and those lovely kebabs.
Not good news about the diet drinks - I'm a Pepsi Max addict! Thinking of stashing some in my suitcase :rotfl:

lantanna, thank you for those (bold) words of wisdom! I was feeling a bit put out that I'd be saying no to everything. It's about choice and staying sensible really. Then I can enjoy the odd treat or two!

shala can you put me down for 12 lb for the challenge please. I have a weeks holiday and two work trips away but I am not going to give myself a low target in case I get complacent.

Going to Greece next week. Has anyone ever been? Going to allow myself some treats but still want to try and stick to plan as much as possible.
  • Hi
I'm re-joining SW tonight after a long break away from plan! I'm dreading the result tonight but I'm positive that it will be the last time I see that number on the scales.
I do struggle with what to have for breakfast, the only thing that really fills me up until lunchtime is eggs on toast or a SW version of a cooked breakfast, if I have cereal or fruit & yogurt I'm always hungry again by 10.30!
I think I really need to sit and re-read the books over the next couple of days as sometimes I think I know the plan but realise I'm not 100% clued up lol
Hope to get to know you all over the coming weeks
