Hi all
I'm after some help. I have been doing SW for almost 4wks but during this time I have been on garden leave so have had plenty of time to cook and prep meals. But I start my new job on Tuesday and I will be out of house from around 7am to 6pm :O and to make it more awkward I will be working in a prison so I don't know yet what I can/cannot take in or what facilities are like. I've been told to only bring my ID and money for lunch in day1. I know they have a canteen so praying for jacket spuds lol! I should be ok to take pack lunch at some point as I've seen staff with theirs but don't know if I have to wait awhile before being allowed to bring bags in etc.
So what I need are ideas for quick easy simple breakfast but that is very filling. I find eggs fill me up. I am a VEGETARIAN.
I will have a 30min drive to work so could eat fruit on the drive!
I was thinking maybe a fritatta of some sort? Never made one before, how long would it keep?
I'd be grateful for any suggestions x* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

I do most of shopping in Aldi but top up elsewhere as required.
Same here. Aldi do a number of free yogurts. We posted the list a few days ago (illegally:o).flutterbyuk25 wrote: »

I love frittata although mine often turns out like a hash. Another idea is a crustless quiche. I make the frittata/Spanish omelette on the hob in a frying pan and then finish off under the grill (as with any other omelette). Briefly, I fry up all ingredients (e.g.sliced potato, tomato, spring onion, peppers, mushrooms) Then pour on beaten eggs and when it's all cooked underneath put it under the grill. If you have spare HEA adding grated cheese is yummy! I particularly like potato in it as it's more filling, tinned potato is cheap and easy. It'll probably keep for 2-3 days in the fridge but mine never lasts that long.;)
Pasta salad is good and filling too but maybe for lunch rather than breakfast. My favourite is roasted veg stirred in and someties a tin of red kidney beans as well.
Not sure if you want to eat all your breakfast on the go? If, at home, I often have baked beans for breakfast.
Yesterday could have been worse. I just had a sausage ciabatta for lunch and was otherwise fairly on plan. Back on it properly today.
EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shreddies, HEA milk
L: fried egg, potatoes, ham, mushroomssteak & chips, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried onions, peas
Snacking my way through a pineapple
Syns: weekend wine0 -
I have taken a few too many detours of plan this week and gained 1lb I'm sure it has a lot to do with TOTM which is taking it's time to get here and I've given into the calling of cakes, bread and all manner of rubbish this week, despite have best laid plans for dinners etc.
I'm not even counting the syns today as I might cry:
B. Porridge & maple syrup
Afternoon Tea: Custard Tart
D. SW Pulled Pork, HM Coleslaw with Apple + a piece of focaccia (was meant to do SW chips but got home later than expected) and another custard tart.
Snacks: Half apple, big handful Pretzels, a boiled sweet and a chocolate mint cream.Mortgage
Start January 2017: $268,012
Latest balance $266,734
Reduction: $1,278.450 -
Right, am back from the shops and have my menu planned:
B - Missed
L - Fresh fruit salad and a ham salad sandwich
D - Fillet steak, salad and SW chips
Syns - Red wine (about 250ml) = 8.5
1 thick slice brown bread from an 800g loaf = 5
Tablespoon salad cream = 2.5
Total = 160 -

A full 40g bag of haggis crisps was consumed last night (so much for weighing out 25g) & one glass of red wine so hopefully not too many syns. I'm unofficially banking them over the week anyway so should be ok.
Today will be green:
B - Branflakes (HEB1), banana, greek yoghurt (3.5 syns)
L - loaded potato skins (HEA1 for cheese) with salad, fresh pineapple
D - HM veggie pasta, grated cheese (HEA2), pitta (HEB2) & salad
More haggis crisps & wine for syns tonight
The post about chocolate porridge reminded me about chocolate Weetabix. I used to have these as a HEB (+ 1 or 2 syns, I can' remember??). I have a feeling SW changed that though. Shame, as I used to like having them occasionally.
I have just 'discovered' the chocolate weetabix and am pretty sure it is 1.5 biscuits as hexb and a couple of syns for the extra half biscuit.
Thanks to whoever posted re the porridge with a sachet of hot choc - will try to remember this now the weather is turning chilly.please-let-me-be-lucky wrote: »For the challenge, my loss this week was 5.5lbs thanks Annie.
Top Girl, I just said the same re my breakfast, I really need tochange what I have everyday!
Have a good Bank Hol weekend everyone Xx
Great loss plmbl :T
Hope you are feeling better today Maisie. Thankfully for me TOTMs is a thing of the past. I think you need a nice warm hot water bottle and a pistachio magum :shhh: and curl up on the sofa with either a good film/book. I know this isn't always easy if you have little ones.
Have a good weekend everyone

You can still have 1.5 choc Weetabix as a HEB, so I would have 2 and add a few extra syns as you did before. You can also have 30g Weetabix crispy mini chocolate chip from a 350g pack or 30g Weetabix chocolate spoonsize as a HEB
Thanks for this, tracey!! :j
flutterby, would soft boiled eggs & beans on HEB toast (with grated HEA cheese) be quick enough for you on a morning?? I'll have this as an evening meal if I'm rushed & it's quite filling. You could half the HEB & HEA if you wanted a smaller breakfast.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

Thanks Beg. Feeling a bit better but have decided to go to bed at 7:30pm when I put the little one in bed as DH and DS1 are having a boys night downstairs, sleeping on lilos in the lounge and watching Lone Ranger and Captain America films. I will snuggle in my nice comfy bed with a chic flic lol.
Not a great day diet wise as have been craving carbs like mad but I will have this weekend off and get back on the straight and narrow on Monday.0 -
