Well - its the last day of the holidays and I seem to have come a long way. I can now:-

Budget using YNAB - the winter oil has just been delivered and, rather than using a cc to pay for it, I have gone to my bank account and simply transferred some funds from my oil and my rainy day accounts to cover the cost.

Raise funds using other sources than just cutting back. I have earnt nearly £300 through some consultancy work, car boot sale and some facebook / ebay sales.

Go on holiday - and come back with no cc bill and some Euros left for my next holiday.

Source a holiday for 2015 using airmiles and bargain holiday sites.

and - most importantly to me

Continue with my life, making the changes that I need to make and repaying the debt whilst not making it apparent to those around me.

All in all its been a good summer holiday. However it is now time to return to the world of full time work and therefore there will be less time to fund raise. I am going to commit to doing two things:-
    1. Make time every day to make something for the Christmas craft fayre that I have booked a stall at.
    2. Go through a room at a time - tidying / decluttering and finding items for another car boot / table top sale / ebay sales.

Anyway - back to today. I have spent most of the day in work and so my MSE efforts have been restricted to a NSD. I received an order from Approved foods - I'd forgotten how good they are and how much value the box is. Might be tempted to do one a month!

You're doing really well Ninno. It's good to break your challenge down into small goals then it doesn't seem so daunting. You've achieved a lot already.

I may well do that - thanks for the advice.

This evening I have started to tackle the house - armed with three bags / boxes- keep, sell or throw. Half an hour later the first large bag is in the bin - it's amazing how much junk I've accumulated! It's also a way to tackle the clutter and give an hour a deep clean. This was just the landing!

Afternoon - back from work (its a training day so we work through lunch and finish early) and not much to report. Its a low spend day which will finish at the cinema - we are going to see a RSC production beamed live to the pictures.

I have a bid on one of the items on ebay so that's a little progress towards the £61.38 and, tidying out a handbag today, I have found another £1.23 so now need to find £60.15 by next Tuesday which sounds a little better!! mmmmm might need to start raiding the grocery budget!!

    lol xxx

Just found another £3.03 lurking in a gym bag. kept £1 in there for a locker and put the rest in my challenge tin - new target for Tuesday is £58.12 - broken the barrier! I've also found another couple of items for ebay - more listings this weekend me thinks.

And another £8.05 - I clearly have had such a cavalier attitude to money in the past!! Still - target for Tuesday is now £50.07. Wouldn't it be nice if I could just break into the 40's - off hunting for 8p!!

Wey hey -did it - found 20p just before setting off for the piccies!! New Target = £49.87

Your house is a right treasure trove Ninno! When my son lived at home I was forever finding money in the washing machine or just coppers he used to leave around because he couldn't be bothered with them. I collected it in a jar and when I had enough bought a bottle of wine with it just to show him how much money he threw away.
