NB everyone!Unlike sparky I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TAKE ANY BANKED AMOUNTS FROM YOUR SIGS, I'm trusting that you'll all be able to give me the entire sums you've saved when you declare on the 27th. Thanks a lot folks.Hi everyone. I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and having a good Monday. Keep saving on up as we've not got much longer to go!!!! :j Thanks for the well wishes for my DH, folks.Don't worry, jakes-mum, I often skim over my Hubby too!!
He's much better now thanks, perhaps another time he may listen to me...first!! Nah, that won't happen as he's a fellar.
How's young Jake after his flu injection, much better I hope? It didn't affect DH or I at all, lucky I guess. BTW. It sounds as though you're having a field day with our Christmas goodies, if it brings you and the kiddies pleasure..that's all that matters, be happy with it. So good to read that the confessor has done just that.
You too, little_sweetie, I really hope your FIL is much better, not a good age for too much illness. Sorry, but I had to giggle at your hair-raising fiasco, the times it's happened to me, I do it myself now. Much better and soooooooo much cheaper!!! :jtatabubbly wrote: »It's nice to know you can save that much without really trying!!You're words say it all so clearly, tatabubbly. It's amazing how quickly it mounts up too!Don't be so tight with your Sis, 32b3, she deserved the shortcake as it would cost you huge in the hairdresser! Just seen your latest post and sounds as though she made a great job, don't forget her gift!
SpiralingDown wrote: »Feeling very. I'm having to dip into savings yet again, car was in for service yesterday and because I try to budget this in I had the money to pay for that but found out she needed work done on the suspension as well as a few bulbs, break pads and disks. Need to borrow £100 out of the bank to go along with cash I had been saving for emergencies to pay for it so now to change my total on my sig.
Hopefully I can make this up again before we open our pots but needs must and without the car I would find work harder so worth it to me.Try not to let it worry you, SpiralingDown, just think what a dilemma you'd have been in without any savings!! :kisses3: Save all you can until the 27th and be so proud of all you've already saved. BTW. Be sure to include all the car costs from your pot as it still counts as savings!! :jYou're thinking is correct, EMMAP, I'd far anyone used their SPC cash to get themselves out of a whole...as it says on P1!Lovely to see you again, Anna. I hope you've had a successful year.blue_mango wrote:Glad I took part in this challenge as it stopped me from spending my savings!Good to see you too, blue_mango, and to hear you've had a brilliant year in saving. Lovely to see your quote above too!!I'm not giggling, mossy, though better to lose the bags than your POT!!!!Deleted_User wrote:When do we need to count it up? Is it the end of November?GettingOrganised wrote:So, I'm declaring at £169.07I am very happy with this as it should pay for the wood flooring for the hallway. Obviously, I would have loved more, but up until September, my main focus was clearing my overdraft. So, not much was going in and when it was it was mostly coins under 50p.
I will definitely be sealing my pot back up for next year and, as my DD helped me sort out the coins, she commented that she wanted to do it too. So, hopefully next year, there will be another junior sealed pot member - starting good habits early on
Excellent potting, GettingOrganised!!!!! :T :j Very well done indeed and don't worry as we'd all wish to have saved more - but at least you didn't fritter it away and be left with nowt!! It's so good to hear you DD now wants to get in on the act of saving.
Don't forget to go to the bank, folks, you'll need them in readiness to counting up day!!! Thanks for the reminder, cattysmum.Have a good Monday, Potters, save hard - as.......after today there are only............................15 DAYS left til 27th November!! :j

Evening all,
I've had a NSD today so no potting for me!
Yesterday had a right drama at the hole in the wall after inserting my bank card the machine decided that it was taking his ball home along with my bank card and not playing!! Never even got chance to put in my flippin PIN number - thankfully :mad::mad:
After 10 mins of trying to speak to a real person at the bank I finally got my card cancelled - so after borrowing some money from DH I have £50 to last me til the new card comes!
On a more positive note tho, my lovely Dad insisted that he pay for me &DH for our lunch with my sister yesterday - so have put £20 in my holding pot for potting later in the week x

...We then went to Morrys and I bought 3 x grapefruit priced at 45 pence each. I went through the till and was charged 3 x 60 pence so went to customer service and eventually was refunded the 45 pence.
So be very aware and be very careful potters - they are out to get you !! Why is it the mistakes are always in their favour eh ??...
Morrison's are TERRIBLE for this. I always check my receipt, every time I shop there. Sometimes it is as little as 10p. One time it was £10!!! Yes, really! The item was £15 on the shelf and went through at £25. I was in a hurry too but I couldn't let that slide
25p changing room-kill at the weekend.
My friend owes me £18 so I should have 18 shiney ones to pot by Friday evening. Well, more like 3 shiney ones and two notes! Ooohh!! I don't have notes in there this year, that is quite an exciting thoughtMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Im really starting to get fed up now
DH had the great idea of going to New York next year in April as a kind of christmas/anniversary/birthday treat type thing but has just left me to 'find a good hotel, in a nice area, close to what we want to see, thats within budget' ummm, ive never been to America let alone New York, I wouldn't know a good location if it jumped up naked in front of me and did the hula, nor would I know if the hotels within that area are good as pretty much everyone ive looked at so far just within Times Square (and i've dedicated over 16 hours so far to this) has completely conficted reviews on tripadvisor or are so out of our price range i'd need to sell my soul to afford it.
Can anyone tell me where abouts I should be looking?!? is it Times Square or will that be too noisy to sleep? should I be up by central park or over by (where i'm assuming) the shopping is?
I'd like a nice view but im not fussed on it being of the Empire state building, I want to be close enough to things that I don't have to spend a fortune on yellow cabs, I'd like to see Time Square but do I really need the neons flashing in my window all night or would just going down there in the evening to see them be what most people do? We want to see a show but no idea where the theatres areI'm slowly losing the will to live and getting to the stage of telling him to stick it, im not going!
He's a bloomin *rude word* for coming up with these great ideas and then leaving me to do all the trawling, but is always the first to moan when the hotel isn't great  someone who's been to New York HELP ME PLEASE!! I really want to go
Oh and to top it off, ive got myself a nightmare buyer through a FB page, who thinks her item (posted second class) should be with her within 2 days and has been hassling me ever since sunday about where it isrant over . .

Well, funny you should say that. I have been there loads of times. I mostly stay in Times Square. The hotels usually really well sound proofed. You might hear the dust carts early in the morning but it is nowhere as noisy as you would expect Times Square to be.
I have also stayed in the upper east side, 89th street I think, it was too far up really but the subway is very regular and convenient, so not too much of a problem.
I stayed once at an airport hotel. Don't do that, it's too far to travel into the city each day.
Around the Empire State Building I have stayed in the Belvedere and another one that I can't remember the name of. Both were fine. Clean and warm although the rooms were generally a bit small. Macys is near the Empire State Building
I have stayed at a comfort inn, they really push the limit of the description of comfort!! But clean none the less.
In Times Square I have stayed in the Edison, which wasn't as good the last time as previously, it's getting a bit dated now. I have also stayed in the marriot marquis Times Square.
I wouldn't worry about the view from the room. You won't spend a lot of time in there, there is too much to do.
When you book, let me know and I will send you a list of where to shop and what to go and see. If you have any other questions, just shout.
