If someone attempted to take food from my plate, they would have scars matching the four tines on a fork on the back of their hands for the rest of their lives.

IT'S MY FOOD, EAT YOUR OWN, IF YOU HAVENT HAD ENOUGH, PAY FOR SOME MORE.

Ive only felt like this since I stopped smoking, ........
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

(Off topic. I can't seem to add smiles lately by clicking on the little pics, can anyone advise please?)

I had this the other day and apparently it's something to do with Windows updates? At the top right hand side of the reply box there's a capital A with a blue italic capital A under it - click on this and then you'll be able to add smilies (although they come up in their "typed" form in the reply box, rather than a pic iyswim :) )

Back on topic - Thinking about it, I have to say that I may well be somewhat of a perpetrator :o The kids will quite often have a round of toast after school as a snack. It sometimes appears as a little less than a whole slice :o - I'm "just checking it's OK" ;)

Having said that I would never take food off someone else's plate (without prior agreement) and if someone tries to take food off mine I copy the dog and growl loudly :D

My DH used to be really bad at this. His fork used to dive in and take what he wanted while I was still eating. It quickly stopped when I was pregnant with DS1 and had morning, noon and night sickness. We went out to dinner and I ordered something I really, really wanted. DH's fork came down and swiftly retreated with marks from my fork on the back of his hand. DH learnt that trying to take food from a pregnant woman is a mistake almost worth of a Darwin Award.

Thanks for that. You're right, it does work, but without the pics. I miss them.... :(
Oh look, they're working now! Strange....:T

In our house if you get up from the table you have finished.

Comfort breaks excepted of course. (although 'go before you eat' is good advice)

But that is your home. My daughter does not have that rule so getting up just means you got up. When they say, "finished" is when they are done and he should wait till then.
The children are one and two and they want them to have relaxed meal times. No having to finish a meal or no desert etc. No more "just one more mouthful" But how can you on the one hand have a relaxed meal time when on the other hand, the children are worried their dad is going to take their food.

This is a bit of a problem between my daughter and her husband. He thinks its fine to always take a bit out of anything he buys or prepares for her and the children. If the kids get up from the table he will eat their dinner without asking if they have finished. She has asked him many many times to stop it and he says OK but then still does it.
His eldest daughter has started to guard her food and is scared to go to the toilet in case her food is eaten. Its really not nice to watch :(

He gets it from his mum who thinks its fine for everyone to just dig their fork into other peoples food. I bought my granddaughter a lovely rice pudding in a restaurant and her other nan (his mum) just kept eating spoonfuls of it., saying Oh she wont eat all that.. Then have what she leaves!! Not what she might eat.

My OH will do this too and it drives me potty. He has his own food he doesn't need to take anyone else's. If I make a snack and ask if he wants something, he will say no 9 times out of 10 but then wants some of mine even though I want to eat it all. He doesn't get why I get annoyed with him. Between him, the kids and the dog I'm surprised I have weight issue, honestly :D

Got my naughty head on today, folks.....

I have an idea.... You know, I loathe washing up, so how about, if we're all going to pinch from each others' plates anyway, I just put ALL the food on the biggest plate I can find, and that way I only have one plate to wash.:D
Oh, and you don't mind if I invite the dogs to join in as well, do you, I don't want them to feel excluded.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I'll get my coat......
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Feed the food thief seperately. In another room if possible. Anywhere where they can't reach across and steal other people's food.
    Better is good enough.
