Bright horribly red blotchy/spotty skin.... it would appear that my skin does not like Lily lolo...
I've got a brand new kit from Sheer Cover which I am not in the mood for trying - well can't at the moment as skin is very itchy, very lumpy and very sore.
I'm at the moment trying a new treatment called - Piriton tablets! And my sister has gone out to get me the anti histamine cream too. I can't go out looking like this - thank goodness its the weekend - and don't know what I will do re work on Monday.
Has this happened to anyone else? Really need some HUGE MAJOR help here - my skin was bad before..... It's sooo embarrassing.....:o
I've been following the mineral make up thread too.... this all sounded too good to be true, i never have any luck!Genie

Ask your doctor or pharmacist but hydro cortisone cream worked wonders for me when I had a bad flare up of seborrheic dermatitis around my hairline and either side of my nose. I had been given a contraceptive pill far too high in androgens for me and got it sorted out in the end. You can buy the cream over the counter but it says not to use on the face but my doctor said that I could very sparingly and temporarily.0

Its pretty much all over my face - but worse on nose - that whole T section really and across my cheeks. Not an attractive look..........
Just don't know what to cover it on Monday for work.........
Will try and get that cream asap Mrs B! ThanksGenie

Be prepared for them to ask "have you used this before?" and "We are obliged to tell you not to use it on you face or broken skin or for more than 7 days".0

I got given E45 cream!!!! As if...
The piriton tabs have relieved it a bit, which I knew it would - you don't get to a certain age without knowing what is ok and what is not.
Thats a lie - I had high hopes for the mineral make up and only sussed it was not 'agreeing' with me for many days - but I was distracted by potential tooth abcess come infected tooth and 'ohmygod the pain' til worked it out this morning.
In other words, its not been my best week.Genie

Well if it was this one http://www.e45.com/main.asp?pid=3390
you should be OK. If the regular one then it will not do much at all!0 -
Not that one - bu**er. E45 dermatological.............
Its calmed down a bit with piriton - which knew it would cos allergy - but its knowing what to use to look decent in future - ie Monday for work etc. and really had high hopes of the mineral make up. I've always had sensitive skin but at my age, mid fifties, am really getting fed up!
Estee lauder did a good 'compact' foundation that suited me - but then stopped it. My luck...........Genie

Poor ((((Jeannie)))). I would be amazed if your flare-up was MMU (mineral makeup) related. I wonder if the tooth abscess is a sign that your whole system is "in a bad place" at the moment? I haven't used my LilyLolo samples and will do so immediately (my rosacea pattern is exactly like yours so we'll see...), and I'll also investigate whether any other users have attributed such a terrible reaction to minerals.
Back in a day or threeMeanwhile, am thinking of you with great sympathy.

Can't sleep - jaw ache!
It does seems as if the flare up/rash is all in the area where I put the Lily Lolo concealer - I've given it all to my sister, including the brand new Sheer cover package, she is going to try it. Tried a bit of the sheer cover myself this morning, just on my neck to see what the cover and colour would be like, and it went a bit red and angry looking.
The first couple of days it all felt fine and calming (make up that is). The abcess turned out to be a fractured and infected tooth, which has been drilled, filled etc - not pleasant to say the least, and have to go back for root canal work - can't wait, not! I did actually ask the dentist if he thought the rash/skin condition was related, and he just said that if you get run down or similar, it can then result in dental problems, not other way round.
Its def not a spread of spots/acne and a definite allergy rash. I have wondered if its more the brushes rather than the make up - but even when applied concealer without the brush it was very itchy.
having read about the concealer from elemental beauty that has healing qualities - I'm tempted, but I've spent so much out already. Really don't know what to do. My skin is so super sensitive.... Its always happiest in the sun, which is supposed to be not healthy!!!
Appreciate any advice/experiences etc.
Better try and get some sleep!Genie

Now thats why hes a dentist and not a doctor nor a dermatologist
Im just wondering if in fact you are not suffering with Seborrhoeic dermatitis. This is something that has plagued me most of my life and as Im getting older the flare ups are looking worse. The areas that I get it are the T- Zone and across my cheeks - usually when under stress or run down through illness. It can look like rosacea but its not and its very sore indeed.
It could be that this is what it is and that the tooth problem was causing it to flare up - just at the same time you started to use the mmu. Personally I would give everything time to settle down and try again. When Im having a severe flare up I use nizoral shampoo, not just on my scalp but I wash it over my face and let it sit a while before rinsing off, can sting a bit but will take the long term burn/itch away a lot quicker0
