Have had no further update so I just rang as well.
Basically got fobbed off. He said my application only "went on the system" on the 3rd July, i.e. yesterday.
I'm not sure how that works seeing as it was submitted on friday i.e. 5 working days ago and I paid the fees on tuesday (1st July) morning as soon as the option was available.
He said they're currently working on applications that went on the system on the 26th, which ties up with what you said.
I can only guess that the full application was delayed because of the maiden name thing again, and then got manually pushed through like it should have originally to allow the option to pay. Then I paid the fees and the application was only really 'finished' at that stage. But that's still tuesday 1st, not thursday 3rd.
Not impressed at all.0 -
I agree I am not impressed either, one of the main reasons I chose the Post Office was because of hearing good reviews of other people. In my opinion they have been much slower than I had expected. When I called they explained it would now be 5 days not 3 days until applications were answered. Its over 5 days for me and they've still not requested any further information which makes me question whether it is even with an underwriter or like you just sitting on their system.
Has the Post Office requested any further information from you in terms of bank statements, payslips, proof of deposit etc. yet? Have you had any correspondence through the post?0 -
No post or emails. Only that 1 original text.
I'm going to ring Monday and I hope for progress else I'm of a mind to complain.
I can understand heavy demand, but the communication and bumping me down the list is very poor.0 -
7 days from full application and still not heard a thing....0

Five working days so far and no news here either.0

Didn't ring them today as I didn't want the stress and disappointment.
Going to ring tomorrow though I think as that'll be the 4th day since I got that text saying it'll be 3 days.
Have you had any contact with the post office themselves rather than Bank of Ireland? The "Request an update on an application" option on their phone number just asks you to call Bank of Ireland instead.
Also, I've just re-read the original registration email, it says they'll take the money for the valuation when the application has been approved, but clearly thats not the case here. Have you paid the valuation fees?
This is on 225k mortgage 90% LTV, 2 year fix no fee.0 -

Our £470 for the Homebuyer's Report went out of our account today, I'm hoping this means something positive is happening.
If it helps anyone we passed the credit check over a week ago and have provided 3x payslips and bank statements, and a gifted deposit letter. We're also waiting for a further statement from our bank so we can show that our latest wages went into our bank account.0 -
I called this number 0845 602 7056 on 3/7/14 asking for an update, when I spoke to an adviser she said it was 'with' and underwriter, when I called yesterday 7/7/14 for another update a different person said 'it is waiting' for an underwriter. So completely different scenarios.
I have gone for an 85% LTV on a 2 year fixed rate with £0 valuation fee and £0 arrangement fee.0 -
did the post office contact you straight away from your application zoology dragon?0
