Post Office Mortgage

Hi, I've been looking through most of the threads about post office mortgages but they seem to be outdated now so thought I would set up a new one. I wondered if anyone could give me feedback about their experience with the post office mortgage process? At the moment I have my AIP, which I progressed to full application on 26th June, but have yet to hear anything back from them (no requests for payslips, bank statements etc.) From previous threads it seemed that people thought they were very quick, and sometimes getting back within 24 hours! This hasn't been the case with me so I am nervously waiting their reply!

I went through the Post Office nearly 3 years ago and from what I remember it took a week from putting my application in to getting a response. I would give them a call as they are very good at answering calls and helpful too. You will be with the Bank of Ireland for your mortgage though so you could call them too, just look up in google Bank of Ireland mortgage and on their website will be a contact number.0

Thank you so much for that, I have been searching on the post office website all morning for a contact number!!0

We're in a very similar situation.
Applied for AIP which went to referred. Underwriter rang the next day to say it was because of wife's maiden name being on electoral role and was no problem.
27/06/2014 - Progressed to full application friday night
1/7/2014 Morning - Logged in in the morning and saw that it said approved and there was an option to pay the valuation fee. Also listed 7 steps at the top of the page.
1/7/2014 Afternoon - Logged in 7 steps not shown now and full application box now empty. Does say "I have paid my fees" at the top though.
Been no change today.
It does say when logging in that they are experiencing heavy demand at the moment and that it would be 3 days for a decision for referred AIPs or for full applications... Though by the end of today that will be 3 days for me.
Not had any emails or texts whatsoever since the initial sign-up.0 -
I used them a year ago. Applied online on a Sunday night, had texts first thing on the Monday morning saying was being progressed and by Monday lunchtime someone had called me to say they were handling my case and would write to me to ask for various documents but verbally told me what they were so I could gather them together.
Also arranged the appointment for the survey that Thursday and the whole thing including valuation was sorted in two weeks.0 -
We're applying with the PO. We're going through a broker so I'm not 100% sure what stage we're at right now. I know that our ID check (had to be done manually) and credit check came back fine, we're now gathering documents though they haven't been requested yet, the broker has told us that they are likely to be requested.0

I called the Post Office yesterday to explain I hadn't heard anything. I asked what stage my application was at and the lady I spoke to said it was with the underwriter and I would get a decision today.
I am little confused, I thought the valuation had to take place before the application went to the underwriter? Does anyone know what comes first etc.?0 -
By the way I haven't sent any bank statements, pay slips, proof of deposit yet either... Which I also thought the underwriter would need...0
