Very expensive spend day today. The locksmith came and I finally have external doors with working locks! No more getting stuck in or out or having to only use a certain door because one of the others has jammed locked. Also we have not been able to lock our door to the garden for 2 days for fear of being locked out of the garden and the dogs being confined to the house.

Did the final top up shop today and I'm less than £2 over budget, which I think is a personal best :) Misc budget is under but will use that towards the Next clothes I kept.

Think I'm going to have a month or two of minimal debt repayments as the house is in need of a few repairs and I can't find any opportunity, except the car boot, to make extra money. Hoping that I get more tutoring next year as I'm starting to realise how much that helped towards reducing the debt.

    Evening everyone!

I never checked in yesterday <slap> but happy to report it and today as SFDs!!! Using up the contents of my fridge, freezer and store cupboard slowly but surely... Have one batch of lentil curry left and soya burgers galore... eggs, rice, pasta... lots of tinned and frozen veg, tinned fish and LOTS of rice cakes (although yummy ones with natural flavours like chilli and paprika) - am good until Friday for sure...

Anyone know any nice recipes using chopped tomatoes? I think I have an onion and spices too knocking around...

Quiet evening in planned... Enjoy yours too! :)

Not so much of a Happy Tuesday for Loveadove here. I am being made redundant in 9 days times :(

However, I have been filling in job applications today and will be working on my little side project and hope that will tide me over between jobs. *sigh*

Good luck loveadove with the job hunt.

I also forgot to post here yesterday. Sfds not going so well, today I bought a box of ice lollies and handed them to random strangers. That's my excuse for being able to have one myself :D

Tinned toms and an onion in my kitchen go in salsa, curry, bolognese/pasta sauce, chilli, spicy ketchup, gazpacho soup . . .hope that helps.

Orienteering sounds like lots of fun dolly.

    Hello!

Sorry I have spent the day in and out of YNAB land and getting the washing up to date. Mum unexpectedly appeared with Dad in tow this morning at 8am to help walk Jellytot to nursery as they decided to leave at 10am instead of 7pm! So no need to feed them!! You would be proud of me though Kat. Some dried pasta, a knocked up sauce, mushrooms in mine, bacon in jellytots. Was very nice! I think I may enlist your help on what to do with cupboards full of couscous, quinoa (Keenwahhh ;)) and red lentils. I bought them when they were a good price for vast quantities, and aside from a bit of moroccan cous cous I haven't touched it. I have endless herbs, spices, onion and celery salt, red onions, brown sugar, wholegrain mustard, chopped tomatoes, 2 pots of creme fraiche and lots of veggies, including a big bag of frozen chopped mixed peppers in the freezer. I've also got varying tins of beans, chickpeas, black eyed beans etc. I need to start making lunches for me and also introducing (dairy free) new tastes to jellytot. I have a freezer full of chicken breasts, sausages and bacon but I am happy to eat meat free. So... GO! Recipes ahoy please! :D

Today :j was finally a SFD. #11 for the month! And a lovely chilled and organised one at that. I have budgeted to the Nth degree, and I have, after bills and Clarks shoes got the grand sum of £10.91 left to spend this next 9 days. Sounds frightening, but in actual fact I require, a dozen eggs from the egg man Thursday (£2), 10 bananas (£1.20), 2 loaves of bread (£2), 4 pints of cows milk for Him (£1). So that is £6.20. Easy peasy!

I'm happy because this months outgoings included an annual bill of £160 for line rental which was unbudgeted and spur of the moment, about £200 overspend from June , a bill which comes in on the 28th and I always use next months wages to cover (no more!) and 2 birthdays!

I have to confess to overspending my grocery budget though. Currently by 6p! But eventually by £6.26. That is still way wayyyyy under normal so I am happy! :D:D

Off to read through diaries and catch up. Enjoy your evening folks!

Loveadove!!! I am SO sorry. I cross posted, and there is me jabbering on and you have had the worst news. Sending you huge hugs and luck for the job hunt. I hope your redundancy comes with a cushion of pay?!?! Hugs!!

    Hi All,

Sorry I have been AWOL for the last week or so. Had a lot going on in my world. Had to get my head around a few little issues and try to make a few decisions. Made a few of the decisions but still need to work on a few other small issues like do I really want to work any more and do I want to sell up everything and move to a completely new area for a better lifestyle. So only c couple of life changing decisions to make

Budgets have gone a bit, ok a lot, off course. Don't have all the figures to hand as my spreadsheets are all on my computer at work so I will update them tomorrow and see the full extent of the damage. The good news is I have still got money in the bank and will have at the end of the month. Not a lot but it's better than being over drawn ;)

As July has been a bit of a write off I am looking forward to August when I can start afresh and get back on track.

Hope everyone is enjoying the good weather and be back with the grim stats tomorrow.

    Hi folks

Loveadove Sorry to hear about your sudden redundancy, I hope youll find a new job very soon..

Reporting another spend day again on floor tiles as I fell short of enough tiles to re-tile the front steps! I have blown all my budgets this month on buying different materials for the renovations and have needed to dip into savings :o. However, I must remind myself that the neccessary improvements are an investment and would have cost a heck of a lot more if it wasnt for the help of a friend of the family :A The spending is likely to continue off and on for another week so I am going to write this month off and start afresh in August!

Going to chillax for the evening with a brew and choccie while I look at finances me thinks!

Hope you have a nice rest of the evening..

    night night all

    Loveadove Hugs.. what rotten news.

Oldestgnome love the idea of randomly handing out lollies!

Chez Hope your decisions get made and you feel better heading onwards and upwards.

Totally not a NSD here, had to buy the pedals to go with the new bike shoes. I am really really getting into my cycling (another 14 miles tonight) and want to slowly build up the kit for it. I felt really bad after but DH pointed out that being debt free a month earlier but miserable and denying ourselves everything is not worth it, and we need to live a bit and fight debt. And as this spend is in pursuit of healthy lifestyles rather than frivolousness then it is worth it. As always he made me feel better...

So, in summary, exercise done, but spends also. Tomorrow should be SF. And I am going to aim for a swim before work.

    Night all x
