Hello everyone! I realised yesterday I told you Jellytot had a ride on a "dinkey" - :rotfl: It was a donkey to clarify, although she called it a horse repeatedly! <3

I've had another lovely day. My new oven is in situ rather than sat on my bedroom floor, and my landlord was so happy that he didn't have to pay an electrician to fit it for me (dads are useful) that he came around immediately to pick up the old manky one and take it to the tip. He also donated me an old foldaway stroller of his, which is in reasonable condition and will do as a spare, so I'm very happy, as is he with the oven & the new boiler I am having him fitted for free by NPower in about 6 weeks! Everyone wins!

I did have a spend day, and it was in ald! :( *hangs head in shame* - In my defence it was my only chance to go there ever as my parents drove me. I only bought things that were of genuine use and good VFM. 3 packs of stevia sweetener for the price I would pay for 1 pack in the local supermarket. couple of glass chopping boards/worktop savers to replace my exhausted plastic ones. Some bleach & UHT soya milk which jellytot and I go through in litres, fly spray finally. Baby corn & courgettes which I forgot/have eaten already from the Saturday big shop. The rest is on OH and he has paid back :) It was £17 only. I shall figure out the precise spends and update my sig later but I think I killed the budget. I got out the next 2 weeks nursery fees from the bank today so I don't keep looking at my healthy account balance and thinking screw it. YNAB does help a LOT with that mentality but still not enough.

So, I am at 10 SFD's, with NONE in the last 4 . Not good enough. Tomorrow shall be a SFD by hook or crook! Parents go home tomorrow night and are eating with us for the one and only night as they are out of their hotel in the morning. What to cook that is slimming world, not very meaty as mum is pretty much vegetarian? :( And that I already have ingredients for!

    Night night all xx

  • Checking in with another spendy day yesterday - really must do better tomorrow, as I will need to go and buy a prescription today. Only today and tomorrow left at work and then I'm off on holiday, so that's very exciting. Hopefully the weather stays nice.

Yesterday the kids did the jobs I had given them and we walked to the cafe for an ice cream, we arrived at 1.40pm just as they were pulling the shutters down. It is no wonder small businesses struggle, why aren't they open in the afternoon, they should have a board up on the main street (only a tiny village and only cafe) saying afternoon tea, ice cream etc. Anyway we walked around the corner to the Co-op which has reliable opening hours and bought a half price pack of Magnums, so a total spend yesterday of £1.42.

I have the six week holiday budget set aside in a bank bag with a piece of paper saying what each weeks budget is, I have gone through this with the kids so they know what we have to spend. I also have two envelopes with our going away holiday budgets in, this includes site fees, extra diesel money and spending money. Hyper organised.

I have asked for a payout from TCB of £5.84 (I think) which should land in my bank account in a few days, this will be added to my very, very tight food budget.

Friday is payday so I will be organising our money for August then.

Our plan for today is a 5.5 mile walk around a lovely NT site, we have to pay £3.50 parking and we may have a slice of cake in the lovely little mill cafe they have there but overall for a day out it will be a small spend day. Tomorrow we are staying at home for most of the day but may cycle to my mum and dads in the afternoon but no spending.

    Hello Chickadees..

Well now - where did that weekend go?

I have been working hard (yeah right!), training hard (Whoop) and am now on week 4 of cycling to the train station. I think it will more than likely cross into August as well as it's so easy to swing into the gym on the ride home - although the lack of food in the house is starting to annoy me so I think I might have to start the whole Tesco delivery rubbish or actually plan a motorbike trip to Tesco's once a week.

How are we all?? Have some of you been paid already? Can you believe August is all but 9 days away?? I am looking forward to adding to my Travel Stash but time is going so fast...

Gym sessions for me have been amazing - my strength is increasing with every visit and I am using 10KG dumb-bells for 3 sets of 10 Arnie Presses - go on Google it. You know you want to. I haven't weighed myself yet - am a little scared to. Although I am getting stronger I don't think I am losing any weight - or much of it. But 9 days to go and we will find out.

Lilt - what ingredients do you have in the fridge? I smell a challenge...:T
So confessions.. I bought a face scrub, moisturizer and food on the CC to the grand total of £70. I have £40 left for food, at least 17 SFD's, £16 in my bank account.. and an appt with my Dr next week for a possible chest infection. Whoops!

OT over the weekend on Sat night and Sunday day (32 hours totaled due to double time - phew).... gonna try and stop doing these doubles in August as they are a killer and leave me knocked out for the week.

More importantly - Plant of the Apes today at the cinema. Then gym. :)

I have also realized I have en extra 5 days more of Annual Leave to take than I thought I did. So I **could** finish on the 8th September instead of the 15th OR take it for money afterwards in October - think that might be the best option as it equates £475... I just have to request that my Leave Date for the sabbatical is changed - PHEW! That's a LOT of money!

Anyway - witterings from me. I shall end there and report back later when Lilt has added the foody bits...:rotfl:

    Morning

Today is a planned spend day as need the previously mentioned toilet roll! Also need plenty of kitchen roll as I'm trying to teach the puppy to behave in the car and he seems to be taking the dirty protest route!

Nothing much else happening today. A day of cleaning and tidying and a gym session this evening. Already walked the dogs whilst it was cool this morning :)

Hope you all enjoy the sunshine

    Hellooooooooooo everyone.

Sorry not to post yesterday, completely manic day, and I'm sure my brain works more slowly in the heat so I felt constantly behind.

    Hope you're all well.

Fmess - well done on percentage debt payment!

Dolly - fishtail plait for DD sounds lovely! Is it hard to do? I always think they look great but have never progressed beyond a normal plait. Oldestgnome - you tubve is a good idea, will have to have a look! I am another one who has failed to curl hair with straigteners!:o

NSK - chest infection is not good, hope you're OK

I've been rubbish with SFDs - all within budget but bad planning has led to grocery shopping over 3 days, and we had to pay for a taxi while we were away. Also had to get some face wash - my skin is awful at the moment, it's the hot weather again I think. Must do better!

On the plus side, I sold 4 books through greenmetropolis, and sent with the MSE free parcel code, so 12 made. :money:

Got a letter from eon today saying that my closed account is in credit. A whopping £13 odd. It won't go to budgets, it will just go to the moving fund. If I can ever work out how I get it back that is. Working tomorrow but Sunday off so I can relax, if it ever cools down any!

    Hi shyspender

Sorry for jumping in here and for the late reply but only just spotted your post.

Thought it might help if I gave you a bit of information about what happens on a closed account following a house move.

Is the final bill estimated or accurate? If accurate, we'll automatically refund the credit balance 7 days after the final bill date.

If estimated, please let us have your closing meter readings. We'll re-bill the account to these and go from there.

I do understand the stress moving can cause so don't worry if you don't have these readings. We'll go with the estimates and send you the money. You'll need to let us know, though, as this won't happen automatically with an estimated final bill.

Did you previously pay with a Monthly Direct Debit? If you did and this is still open, the money will be sent directly to your bank. If not, we'll send a cheque to your new home provided you've given us a forwarding address.

Again, talk to us if we don't have a forwarding address. Can soon sort this.

Hope this helps shyspender and that you're settling into your new home. Let me know if I can help further as happy to do so.

MagicCat - the fishtail plait is very simple, it just takes a lot longer than a normal plait.

We have completed our walk and did some orienteering whilst there, it was a NT activity and was free. The kids also made flags which are now flying proudly on our summerhouse. They chose an ice cream instead of cake, rather expensive ice creams imo, particularly for Yorkshire folk. I have reminded them that I will not part with a single penny tomorrow.
