    Morning all

I'm taking back the raincoat I got yesterday so that reduces my Next spends and OH is buying me a new raincoat. I'm happy with the Next one but he wants to get me a quality coat and it is his money.:)

    Morning all.

Hoping for a better day weather wise here today, yesterday it rained all day apart from an hour.

Me and DH both felt really off colour yesterday and are putting it down to too much coffee and the eggs we ate at lunchtime. We were supposed to go cycling but decided to run instead due to the weather (don't mind running in the rain) it was really hard to motivate ourselves to go due to feeling bad but we did and it seemed to shake up our metabolism and we both felt much, much better after.

This morning I have made coffee in the machine but just did enough for 1 large mug each instead of 2.

Learnt how to do a fishtail plait for DD yesterday but still cannot fathom the french plait, she was very pleased with her hair and it will be a good style for school.

I sorted out the kids old school uniform into a bag for the charity shop, a bag for rags and some to give to a friend. DS's shoes went straight into the bin on Friday. I have already purchased their new uniform earlier this month and came in under budget as they didn't need much, we just need new shoes and will go to the Clarks outlet at the end of August. I only buy Clarks shoes for them, they are about £25 a pair at the outlet and they last the whole school year.

    Hello.

Sorry for the lack of posting... nightshifts then straight into a family bbq (which was for cancer research uk). So £20 came out of our xmas pot and into the savings box.
I am not classing it as illegal spends or a spend in general as there was no way I wasn't going to put money in the pot. It is a cause very close to the family (and probably every family in the world, cancer does not discriminate).
Anyways bbq was brilliant. OH had a great time with the family and even though it poured with rain, we had a brilliant time.
    :D

Another two spend-free days so 9 in total.
    :j

Shopping budget is a bit dead so we might be heading into credit card territory for the last wee bit of July.
    :(

Have been a bit naughty and booked a weekend away. It will cost money but OH and I are going to save up in the meantime so we can afford it.
Our festival friends are all meeting up in October, camping for a weekend and going to a theme park so we have booked our pitch... £32 for two nights. Will book tickets for the theme park nearer the time. A friend of ours can get us a pretty good deal.
    :)

Heading over to my parent's house for another bbq this evening. Hooray!!

Dolly YouTube videos are brilliant to learn how to do French plaits and other hair styles :)

I've been studying and chauffeuring family to airports so quiet weekend for me, small shopping spends..so no sfd should catch up on those by end of month!

I used youtube videos to learn fishtail plaits Oldestgnome they are great! Still cannot master a french plait on myself, or using straighteners to make curls in my hair, no matter how many vids I watch and how much I practice!

Well, a weekend of mixed money fortunes.. afternoon tea out was paid for by mum, which was a total bonus :) but I 'had' to donate to a sponsored toddle for my niece which was a fiver and I only had a tenner and so had to give that over with no change. sigh. One step forward, two back!

Then.. I asked DH to get me some padded cylcing shorts through Quidco and with a Halfords Voucher we had. I had seem some nice cheap ones there. He forgot about the Quidco and Voucher bit, and picked up the wrong ones in the shop, which when he got to the till turned out to be VERY expensive. He described being so annoyed by the whole saturday, busy shop experience, he just bought them anyway! I wrestled with guilt all night about taking them back and getting the cheapo ones, but the comfort of my poor bum won, and a 20 mile ride today was very pleasant! Guilt still remains, but sitting down is a doddle now!

Then, we discovered the joy of Lidl today... well impressed! Although we did add a few tasty treats to the trolley - mmmm massive jar of Olives... and we totally caved on the way back and had a subway lunch.

So, in summary, the planned spend was a no spend in the end, but we still managed to spend an awful lot more than planned. I know that was due to weaknesses on both our parts.

But, I will press onward and upward next week...

take care and enjoy sunday eve gang x

    Evening all,

Today has been SFD number 10 :) Realised that I stupidly forgot 3 items from my mini top up shop yesterday but my mum gave me one, so we can last until at least tomorrow, if not Tuesday :)

I may not be able to put much towards my debts in August as this morning our final external door started having lock problems. The two others already have problems but the third and final external door this morning, was the final straw. At one point it looked like I was going to be taking all the dogs to go to the toilet on leads on the front lawn all day. OH managed to gain access to the back garden eventually but it needs fixing, and might as well get them all done on one call out.

Also need an electrician and gas service this month, so quite a few large expenses.

Hope you are all enjoying the warm weather. I'm loving not using much gas or electric and getting clothes dried quickly and easily. Plus sunbathing is free entertainment!

    Hi all..

I had a nice chilled SFD today... busily using up stuff in my fridge whilst trying to stay pretty healthy. No gym day today - but hopefully tomorrow after work!... Quiet evening in now - DVD then bed.

    Night everyone x

Ah I am sorry I didn't drop in yesterday. I had a very busy day and have been the same today, hence the late check in!! Just squeaking in before midnight!!

I have been a naughty lilt. I've spent up my food shopping budget. For some reason there is an anomaly between my spends on YNAB and my spends on here. I can't figure it out but I think it has a lot to do with mum shoving things into my baskets and then giving me cash. If I keep it under the £200 I 'usually' spend then I will be super happy since £200 is usually £260+.

Jellytot has finally outgrown her 6 month old trainers. I am happy to get such use out of Clarks (another household here that only buys Clarks shoes!) but I am so glad that as of next week she will have a pretty new pair. Had her feet measured on a whim, (as I do often), with mum present so she forked out the £26. We cancelled each other out really though as I owed her £30 for nan/dad presents over the last couple of months.

Was mum's birthday today so had a lunch out which dad paid for. Was fab and I was stuffed until late tonight when we cracked open the creme fraiche that goes off today and used it with salsa sauce and tortilla chips/cheese for some cheesy nachos :) yum! Had a lovely day altogether. Jellytot has been an angel & made mums day! Jellytot also went for her first ever ride on a dinkey at the beach! Wasn't sure but she got there in the end, rodeo style waving as we came back around to see my parents standing waiting!

Wasn't very organised and took Jellytot out in a skirt with a shirt and cardigan and some sandals. Only to find it was colder than expected due to sea mist. So I quickly skipped in to the supermarket and bought some sparkly sequined shoes which she adores and some tights, as we were out for lunch and she needed to look nice! My daddy stumped up the money on them but I still bought mums present today. A pair of jasper conran jeans in the Debs sale. Reduced from £50 to £20 and she loved them! So my allocated £40 for birthday spends and cards etc became £25. Lovely jubbly!

No SFD's. but about 8 miles walking!!

    Night all xx

  • Also had a bit of unplanned spending this weekend - went to Asda and bought some sauce bases so that when I get back from holiday I can do some more batch cooking, as the freezer is almost bare, but there's no point topping it up for four days, only two of which I'll be home for dinner! So I think it was worth it, but it did mean I bagged no no spend days this weekend because of two tiny shops which is annoying. However, with getting ready to go on leave from work and being one person down, I don't think i'll get much chance to spend anything today! I can't believe we're most of the way through July already... it's gone so fast.
