NSK - I use Dr Bronners, I would recommend the tea tree one as it is antibacterial so would prove very useful for you when travelling. I've never cleaned my teeth with the peppermint one although I do have it, I use it in the shower when I have sinusitis.

First day of reporting since joining

One large spend Tuesday - of all the stock cupboard things I needed for the month, should have sufficient to last to the beginning of next month.
Wednesday - fruit and veg from the market to last until next week. It's only a very small market in the middle of the village, parking is horrible so I try to get there before 8am, even so I usually have to walk from the car park but at least there is usually a space available at that time.
    Thursday - SFD
    Today - SFD

Exercise:- a couple of hours this am with the hens, need to spend another hour later (when it has gone cooler but before the rain which is due 7pm approx) filling up feeders and doing nest boxes with new bedding. Also need to cut back a lot of fruit bushes later - wont be watering I'll leave that to nature.

Managed to cut down on the TV last night, spent the time sorting out some old paperwork - felt good getting that job out of the way.

Ran in my first sports day in years today! Spent the day on the far side of the track, doing the triple jump (PB is a measly 6m50 ish!) and having nice chats with kids. Then I took part in the final 4x100m relay: female staff, male staff, sports leaders, VI form, y11. We came last, but it was great fun!

Was covered in suncream, so definitely not a chemical-free day! But got it all off in the shower using a salt + oil scrub. Hair has had its second wash + condition with bicarb + acv. Feeling good!

Another NSD, and the chemist finally had dd's bread in, which saved me having to go and buy some. Phew! Step count is over 10k, and I've had 8 veg so far - 2 more to get down my neck!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hey all- HAPPY FRIDAY! :j

Tiptoes- I can't imagine how much of a shock that was for you and your family. In regards to finances- I think your Dad set an amazing example, however do whatever feels right at the moment. xx

applemuncher- Absolutely in awe of your home-made toiletries! I have a very dry scalp so not sure if the concoction would help or hinder. I hate to seem like a div, but what is acv?

Sorry I missed my check-in yesterday, I was at my best bud's house last night having a home-made Thai green curry and saying my goodbyes- she's off round Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam for a month! (Lucky! But well deserved) We fully immersed ourselves in travel books and travel inspired music- lovely!

I did have a spend day yesterday- few foodie bits. Today looks like a SFD, so to remove the temptation this eve I shall announce it on here so that it is official! This brings me to:

    SFDs- 3/15
    Groceries - £5.00 (exactly!)/ £80.00
I partook in my combat and toning DVD today so I shall declare another session of exercise- it was blooming hot in this heat though! Feel better for it (after the post-shower)
    Exercise- 2 sessions t.d

I am hungry- time to go foraging! :)
    Pip! Pip!

LoveaDove, acv is apple cider vinegar. I'd say to try it for a few hairwashes to see how it goes, I don't think natural ingredients should make your scalp worse.

kat, yes I moisturise with olive oil already. But the extra virgin stuff, not the normal. I save the normal for my mayonnaise making!

    hey all

Checking in... thanks again for the lovely kind words... it really helps.
Just back from a run, so that's an exercise done. Not a SFD as had to do a top-up shop as I am leaving DH on his own this weekend whilst I have a spa overnight with a good friend (her treat - how lovely). Spends should be a minimum as the deal includes treatments and dinner. I might just have to buy a few drinks for us both...

Loving all the chemical free chat.... does ACV really work on spots??

It's so nice to be back and focussed. Me and DH are feeling very DebtBusting and ready to get back on track.

    happy Friday night x

Thanks for the hair recipes Applemuncher - will give it a go tomorrow and see what my hair looks like! Also interested in the Dr Bronners for my travels, have been starting to investigate different products that take up little space hence the au natural thoughts hair wise :) Thanks for the heads up ladies will investigate that too. Will report back about the bicarb and ACV.

Green UK gooseberries can be sweet you have to be patient and keep squeezing them until they are soft then they will be sweet enough to eat raw - anyone bought up on raw rhubarb and a little bit of sugar in a plastic cup? Brings back fond memories of childhood!

Happy weekends all and camping/weekends at the coast for others :)

    Evening everyone!!!

Checking in with SFD number 2!!! Hoorah.

Thanks for all the flea advice!!! Entire contents of my room has been washed - and though the cats have been banished - there are fleas in the rooms that i haven't cleaned/vacuumed. Will let the Landlord sort it asap!!!

Am so excited to have 2 days off - I think I will do something nice (but cheap or free) tomorrow... Will see what the weather is like.

You really use olive oil to moisturise??? I have some Bio Oil which I got when it was buy 1 get 1 free, and that is good... but expensive. I never thought of using actual oil! Tell me what your skin looks like in a few weeks :)

Have a lovely evening everyone!!! xxx

Just got in from night out. I'm very proud that, I didn't drink and only spent £26.80 of my £40 budget :). It would have been £20 but was chucking it down so went in the closest car park (but you have to pay).

Second and final monthly outing is tomorrow, then I don't have to spend ànything else :)
