Hi All,
SFD again today so 2/15. May have to spend a little tomorrow as Mum is coming over and I have invited her to dinner. I have plenty in the freezer but it depends on what she wants to eat.
Off to bed as have to be up at 4:45 in the morning as OH needs to leave early.
Back tomorrow
Chez xThat money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"0 -
Just a quick check in before bed for day 3!
I spent about £6 at Mr T today on some garlic paste, massive tub, bogof... Off to Mr M tomorrow to do a massive shop, then the weekend should be NSD's.
I have been crocheting for hours today and I have a unicorn! Just the face to do, and I'll share a pic. I'm so happy with it! I want to keep it for myself but then I'd need to make something else for my niece's birthday.
I hope you're all having/had a great day. I'll post my totals after shopping tomorrow xHighest debt: £25,702.08(estimated) DFD 29th August 2018 Paid £35.25

Day 3 check in and a NSD
went out with a friend for a few hours after work, much needed fresh air and fun in the sun, we went for a cliff walk to a deserted beach..no cafes in sight! Good for morale and the wallet!
We are away camping this weekend, but the house is rented out for the duration, so we should be in profit :rotfl: It is a small campsite, £6/night, and no shops for miles so spends are unlikely. I have raided the cupboards and the freezer towards our contribution for the group meal, and will be picking up the last few bits from Aldini tomorrow.
Lunch and dinner today both leftovers...have used up yellow stickered veg in leek & potato soup (I think 4 portions cost approx 50p, 3 portions are in the freezer now) and a cauliflower, broccoli, leek & potato bake (cost approx 60p for 3 portions, 2 are in the freezer now).
I did fail to get anything on ebay or to claim some expenses back at work - must get the expenses in hand tomorrow, and do some listing on sunday evening!
Good news on money front, one of the other events we had already planned in was a small local music festival. First year that I have had to pay for DD, so this was looking much more expensive. Thanks to a tip off from a mate, I registered as a steward. I have to do 3 hours work each day, but get a free weekend ticket and two meals & drinks provided...confirmation has come through tonight :T DD has several mates going so will enjoy a bit of freedom with them while I work (not late at night) and I just have to get her a teenagers ticket, plus a small amount (from her piggy bank!) to spend (we will be taking picnic food etc as per Kats instructions!).
On less so positive note, signature updated. Luckily I am expecting a £260 refund onto the cc in the next ten days or so, as currently its gone up by about £450  my planned DFD on that card is 6 weeks away. Gonna be tricky, but I am determined to still have a go! There are 2 paydays in that 6 weeks..0 -
Evening everyone...
I'd like to echoe what others have said TiptoeDB... Wherever we all end up - at least Dad is at peace and his worries are over. I'm sure he would be real proud to see who You have become and the efforts You are making. Even on days where it's hard or you slip up... his love will always be there - unconditionally - to help you through.
Managed a SFD today so am pleased with that. No gym visits as of yet... will have to get on top of that this weekend for sure.
Not a lot else to report... Productive evening thanks to the cats bringing in fleas!!! My room is now vacuumed and all my washing and bedding is cleaned and dried and reapplied... Any tips as to how I can keep it flea free? I heard salting the floor for 3 days destroys eggs... and essential oils repel (but don't kill) them... Has anyone else ever had them? The cats have been showered and shampooed - anything else that can be done?
Thanks all x

Abundant, we usually took ours to the vet and she got sth to put in the nape of her neck every now and then that kills them in her fur and the house we sprayed with flee killer stuff. Not the best approaches though if you're not keen on chemicals. Some years it was just a mild infestation and we let it run its course and just put up with a few bites.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Check in for day 4 and I'm now on 1/15 NSD as I didn't spend anything yesterday. This is something I really struggle to do - it's usually only 40p on some chocolate, but a spend nonetheless. I'm going to try and work up the energy to go shopping after work today so that I can try and claim two more over the weekend; my only plans are to stay in and madly try and write my dissertation, so I'm hoping that'll be cheap if dull. Also planning to try the lentil soup, it sounds amazing!Proud to be debt free September 2014. :j

Good morning all
My fridge and freezer are groaning with the weight of all the lovely goodies I got last night at Morrison's - I'll be making jambalaya tonight with some of the chicken. I'll take a whole chicken out of the freezer tomorrow and cook that in the slow cooker as that'll free up half a drawer in the freezer and let me spend my last voucher at the weekend.
Today I'm off to work with a nice bit of quiche (reduced from £2.39 to 15p) and some of my leftover salad (reduced from £2 to 49p) I wish I found bargains like that every week. I remember being in Tesco with my mum one day when they were reducing things and I got three whole chickens for £1 each. She just couldn't get past the idea that there must have been something wrong with them :rotfl:
By my reckoning, the meat I got yesterday will cover us for at least 15 meals, so that's half the month doneMaybe I will manage my £130 budget after all. It's easy to be optimistic on day 4 :rotfl:

hello all! checking in! TiptoesDB and PurpleJay - i am so sorry for your loss :grouphug:
had some unexpected spends the last few days - kitty fleas had to be dealt with on an industrial scale but seems to have been beaten for now - no more scratching from kitty and he seems much happier in himself. we will need to do some top-up battling in a few weeks so that might incur a few quid more spending.
Other than that we have been very good! I have been walking to and from work, despite the heat! (can it just rain now already?!!) and we have been cupboard eating!
been sticking to my not watching tv and have been working on my blog and got a nomination for it already! only 6 weeks old! whoop! :j:j:j
lots of washing of bedding and towels for me today to kill all the icky fleas! good thing it's warm! they'll dry quickly!
Thank god it's friday!! xxDebts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -
ooh - just noticed abundant - you have a flea problem too!!!!
must be that time of the year! I went mega on them!
used a spray to spray all the carpets and matress and curtains
gave kitty a bath and used a nit comb on him to remove all on him already
gave him spot on
now hot washing all bedding, towels, cushion covers and eventually clothing and curtains!
the eggs and larvae have cycles so we're going to give him another spot on in 2 weeks and get some more of the spray to re-do everything too!
good luck!Debts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0
