What's the stupidest thing you've ever spent money on?

Classic car that I rarely drove.0

I've spent a fortune on clothes "that'll fit if I lose some weight". Never lost the weight, so sold a lot on Ebay for a fraction of what I'd paid.
Also, I recently got the grand sum of £35.71 for my CD collection on Music Magpie, which over the years has probably run to thousands!
Ah well, you live and learn...0 -

I can still hear the sniggers to this day! I still have the boots and bandanna somewhere I think

That sounds migraine inducing
I had a gold lurex slash neck top and a turquoise satin crinkled dinner jacket, long bleached hair with red and black stripes in and backcombed until vertical, we were all young once, this was the late 80's, I wanted to look like Michael Monroe from Hanoi RocksMy stuff was pennies from a charity shop though

High-heeled shoes. Every few years or so I buy a pair, wear it twice, suffer, get rid of it. I don't know how them ladies do it.
Perhaps it should end now0 -
I wanted to look like Michael Monroe from Hanoi Rocks
I saw him live a few years back.:j
I don't think I've ever bought anything really stupid, but I wasted a lot of money buying things for other people and trying to keep a share house afloat on my own.

A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Semen!
Or to be specific, a straw of frozen semen to AI a broodmare, to produce a foal which turned out to have a condition which has cost me maybe £20k in (uninsured) vet bills.
Having said that, I love her and wouldn't be without her.0 -
Not that I regret this as I needed it and it helped, I bought photographic studio lighting £2,000 and more equipment for my cameras and updating them.....then I left them behind me when I left my ex..... Why because it wasnt worth the aggro and abuse to go back and get them. Still got the cameras and lenses though, but no more business. You don't know what happens next.
BTW I am a lot happier now with my new partner, even without the lights hahahaaI love green dots :T I hate red dots :mad:0 -
