A hypnobirthing course when pregnant with my first child. £300 - I could weep. What a waste of money.

Second time round I bought a secondhand TENS machine for a tenner (and sold it on again afterwards for the same amount :money: ). Much more useful!
  • Designer shoes that kill my feet and cannot walk in £390 sat in a shoe box (albeit in fancy tissue :-) ) awe well - never mind!
Finally debt free and loving it!

As an impoverished student I bought a 2nd hand saxophone for £150. I couldn't (and still can't) play one!

A friend worked in a music store the late 80's and loads of students would drop their whole grant cheque of £450 on an electric guitar (yes students got grants in those days) I don't know what they lived on for the rest of term though.

A suit for a job interview for my ex. Stupid because:

    - i bought it on a credit card
    - he was a lazy oaf who had no real intention of actually getting a job

I also ended up buying a replacement door pane for our rented flat when we moved out, 6 months after he put his foot through it and promised to fix it.

And it still took another year before I got rid of him!

Exercise equipment, all gathering dust, but now has been eBayed or Freecycled.

Various kitchen gadgetry - always go back to the old favourites because they're easier to clean.

Cat beds. They prefer a cardboard box, tea towel, newspaper, my bed (list is endless).

got bored one day and bought a new xbox 360 with around £300 of accessories... and I never really play it (most expensive DVD player i've ever had though!)

Also bought a watch in a Spanish market one day for £20... Rolex.. (not, in my defence I was like 15 at the time!)
