The reason me and dh havent shopped in such an establishment for years is because of this and their terrible uniform which is enough to put any sensible shopper off entering Wilkinsons for life.
The op's expetrience is simply a power trip for the assistant and nothing more.
Let me guess, you are the drunk 'friend'0 -

I missed the "I can't phone 101" thread; that's a shame.
I hope that the long hot summer yields a crop of quality trolls... though my hopes aren't high ones.

8/10 highly entertaining thread, plot a little thin but otherwise good trymakes no sense why would anyone go shopping on a sunday if they were drunk.
Me! I've gone shopping while drunk! Quite a few times, and I don't drink that often. You should try it, it's actually quite liberating.
A few times on a Sunday (the horror!), because I was still drunk from the night before, but still had to buy groceries. On both occasions I managed a fairly normal shop in terms of vegetables, fruit etc but bought far, far too much bacon. Once at an Xmas do when I needed change for the bus ride home - popped into M&S to get change, ended up with three cheese selection boxes, a three course meal and five bunches of flowers. Once at the previous Xmas do, to a sweetshop to resolve an argument with a friend (I lost- they didn't have any coltsfoot rock). Twice on a Saturday morning when I was on my way home from parties, needed to do a weekly shop and had to pass the shopping centre on my way home anyway. Both times I ended up in a homewares shop, buying candles, although I have to say I didn't have any problems getting served - having said that, all the candles were gift wrapped in such a way as I couldn't open them while drunk anyway, perhaps it's a safety feature?
Maybe you could contact Wilkinsons to complain about the accessibility of their candles to drunks...:coffee:Coffee +3 Dexterity +3 Willpower -1 Ability to Sleep

i am going down there later today to complain.
Complain about what?
You have already admitted that you were not even in the store at the time the alleged incident happened so even though the staff had the right to refuse service to "your friend", it is "your friend" who should be the person going to voice their concerns.0 -
