Gosh, just had a phone call from EA to say first viewing of old home is at 12.30 today! :eek:0

I did stairs today. Hoping to go home weds. I am caught in an nhs boundary post code lottery for rehab at home and hosp want a bit more assurance before I will be discharged. To minimise long term disability. I can walk about 50 metres.but gait is odd. Arm/ hand has some movement but cannot do anything functional . Speech and reasoning good . Continent( another blessing) mouth a little down so I am in quite good shape and feel very lucky.
Oh I do hope that they can sort out you going home. It's so much nicer to be in your own surroundings. Will you have some help to start with? I guess the occupational therapist will do home visit to see if there's anything that they can provide to make your home easier for you to be in.lostinrates wrote: »Do you mind me suggesting what I would do in your situation?
I wish you would! :rotfl: What really did make me a bit cross was that there is a ramp and then a pathway across the front of the surgery building, that you use in wheelchair - there are steps up at the entrance. But there's a gate across the pathway and it was padlocked shut! So I had to get out of wheelchair and climb 2 steps. What would have happened if I was totally unable to walk? I think OH is going to write a letter of complaint to practice manager. After all if a NHS Health Centre is inaccessible what hope is there? :eek:0 -

I read a piece a while back about a woman who was due to give a speech about rail accessibility who was a couple of hours late. The reason? The train pulled into the 'wrong' platform at City Thameslink(?) so she couldn't get out of the station so had to get a train 30 mins north where she could change platforms and come back in to the 'right' platform. :j0 -

AFAIK both platforms at citi thameslink have always had lifts but if one were out of order until the recent refurb at farringdon and the new st pancras thameslink station I suspect you would have had to travel to Luton Airport parkway to find a station with lifts where you could switch to the other line....I read a piece a while back about a woman who was due to give a speech about rail accessibility who was a couple of hours late. I am fed up although I know in comparison with other NP I have nothing to complain about. It remains freezing where I work, it is not a heating issue, it was also freezing last week when it was much hotter outside. Being cold makes me sit and hunch giving me a stiff torso and shoulders which then triggers a stiff neck and tension headache. Oh and all the IT broke at 4 yesterday and although it came back mid morning today it is even slower/flakier than normal which makes getting work done a real chore - want to save a new version of a spreadsheet - that will be 6 attempts and 20 minutes, don't save reguarly and you risk a system acrash and loosing all your work. Even worse last week they extended my contract for another 12 months

West Hampstead Thameslink has lifts to all platforms as does Borehamwood & Elstree since last week.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
