Playing catch up, so apologies for being late in sending congratulations to chewy on his fantastic news.
Also good luck to Mas and Sue on the job front. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Here in Liverpool we are about to lose about half of our libraries.
The really weird thing is that the majority to go are all in the North end of the city, which is where the Corpy was supposed to be trying to get stuff better as tis all so awful there - poverty etc.
We in South, will lose one (Sefton Park Library) but more look as if will be OK.0 -

+1 ! Feel like I'm struggling to keep up with the thread ATM.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I've missed about two weeks, work has been manic. Only reason I'm getting to look at the thread now is that I had to come in at 3.30 to sort out a problem and it's pointless going back home. *yawn*
Good luck on the job front Sue and Mas.
Good to hear you are feeling better bit by bit, Gen.
lir, floor will get dirty again in 5 minutes, concentrate on the important stuff.
Best wishes to Spirit, is she still in hospital?0 -

I know we don't always see eye to eye :rotfl: , but I care about you very much, hope you know that, I regard you as a good friend.
It's really not as bad as it has been, so that's a definite positive.. I don't like it when things like senses muscle in, because it takes me closer to dependence, though I do sometimes enjoy the whole peace of the ears shutting down for a while.
I actively prefer friends who don't agree. Who wants to talk to 'oneself' in conversation?0 -
This makes sense and is a good reason for being careful what you spend.
This, I'm afraid, makes no sense at all. It would be entirely reasonable if you were fit, but you're not. You have significant limitations on your resources of energy and physical ability to see, move without pain, stay awake, etc.
Yes, I get it that you have many weeks when you are perfectly capable of managing. But what about the weeks when you can't manage? And anyway, if you do have a good week, you're still not brimming over with the kind of "energy all day every day" that you had before you got ill. You can only achieve a limited amount - why would you want to waste part of that limited allocation on cleaning??? Overdoing things can make your health get worse. Cleaning your kitchen yourself just isn't worth that.
You have all manner of special skills and abilities - with animals and in other ways - and surely the best thing for you to do, if the operation funding weren't in question, would be to invest the energy that you do have in doing those things, which only you can do, and bless somebody else by giving them gainful employment cleaning for you.
So the job is too hard for an able bodied person to do, therefore the person with the health problems ought to do it??? If the surgery funding gets sorted and you can afford a cleaner, then don't let the type of floor stand in your way. Pay 'em extra to make up for the lack of satisfaction, or bung down some cheap lino in a hurry just to make the room more cleanable in the interim until you can get it done how you want it, or buy a special cleaning machine for them to use that'll make it easier, or, or, or ... there are all sorts of possibilities.
I have a cleaner despite living in a house with a pathological hoarder. DD currently has three rooms (2 upstairs and 1 downsttairs) so crammed with stuff that I wouldn't expect a cleaner to get in there and clean them, and DS doesn't like the cleaner in his room so she doesn't do in there. It doesn't matter. She does the bits we want her to do, and doesn't venture into rooms whose doors we have left shut. Frankly, if she did nothing but the kitchen and bathrooms, she'd still be worth it, although actually I love it that she does the conservatory, living room, dining room and my bedroom too.
OK, I'm going to stop ranting now. I'm sorry if I've said too much. The thing is, lir, that I care about you. I want you to stay as healthy as possible. I want you to continue to be able to walk your dogs and look after your other animals, cook amazing food and be a delight to fir. I want you to continue to be able to see, and to stay awake for a decent amount of the day, and to have fun and enjoy life. So I get upset when I think you are unnecessarily putting your body through tough stuff that might make it harder for you to get better. I absolutely respect your right to make your own decisions even if I don't like them - I am just expressing what I think. And if you do end up paying for the operation privately, then the money will answer the question anyway.
Well done for setting the deadline and well done for sticking to it. :T
Yay! One problem sorted. That's one fewer left to deal with.
Go Nikkster! :j
I feel pretty able bodied right now tbh. Just tired.. But cleaning is exercise. I cannot go for a good walk ATM but scrubbing is exercise you can take a break from, just sit and stop
Not cooking all that much special ATM, best time of year for cooking and eating and I'm sort of mono ingredient ing.. I am resisting not eating though, which is good I guess
. I have huge desire to do the master cleanse, which it think is a ridiculous thing to do, and I like fasting, but that seems weird, but I need to try and keep metabolism ticking, not scare it more.

I had to lose most of the furniture from previous houses as it was all too big for this house so it's mainly Ikea.
The nice thing about Ikea is that people recognise things from their own homes and it brings a sense of familiarity and fit. I'm sure many house are sold on the basis that some recognises their Expedit bookcase or a Malm chest of drawers.
I'm happy to PM a link but it's the only house on Tepilo in the town and I'm not sure there are that many in the whole county!
I wouldn't know an Ikea to a Harveys or an Argos!
I've never even been in Ikea let alone have any of their items. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
