No, it wasn't empty. There was probably about 3/4 of it left, although I didn't see her fill it in the first instance. I saw her top it up (but didn't know there'd be a test, so wasn't taking notes), I'd guesstimate she refilled it with ... er ... 200-250ml level of a measuring jug? Might have been a bit more. It was a big jug and, as I said, I wasn't taking notes. She scooped about 1/3 of a jug from her big bucket, then poured some in - and there was still a lot left in her jug when she did the box up again.

I told her it looked like there were more "trails" under the fence and she said "they're all coming for it"

    Ok, question two!

    She's filling from a jug....

So she's filling with grain that's a funny colour? Like blue or pink,( not bait blocks ) in to a tube rather than a box that locks? This surprises me in a domestic area....I mean, she knows what she's owing I'm certain, its just, i didn't think that would be what she did so I'm interested in why. :)

Tahina is Arabic/Persian whereas tahini is Western/Greek.

I guess Britain uses tahini because Greek food is longer accepted here as a cuisine? Shrug.

The one I am confused about is turmeric which I pronounce differently to some tv chefs.

I say term er rick. Not tumour rick.

I said I might start calling it khakhoum, and DH calls it something else, the name he buys it by for me in London by big bags ( we buy it in bulk, sometimes on the Internet, sometimes on short notice in London)

At a guess it's because if you wanted to import tahini/a into the UK in the 1950s/60s/70s then it'd be easier and cheaper to do from Greece than from The Lebanon.

No idea there I'm afraid. I use the latter pronunciation though.

Bugslet provided the idea for something I can eat.

Amazing, porridge with tahini. Its so good. So good. SO GOOD. :)

    Told ya!:D

Great, so every furry in your locale is heading to your house. I'd borrow Kiwi and my Ruby, she's never tackled anything more exciting than spider, but I'm convinced she'd be motivated.

Term er rick here, as well.

Friend has just had her Dane put to sleep this morning, only 5 with spinal problems; she was such a gorgeous dog with a lovely temperament:(

The Ikea advert surprised me - I call it I Key Er
    Advert called it: Icky Er

Yeah, I'm picking up the tab for the whole town to feast :)

Maybe they nibble my grass as "afters", which is why I see them!

For those cooking without tahini ... it's suggested peanut butter can be used for hummous. Could you make porridge/peanut butter 'flapjacks'? Or any kind of flapjacks, so you've always got a box of "something to eat" when you don't feel up to it.

Its not being up to cooking so much as up to eating. I don't struggle to cook but I I'd struggle to eat. One of the pills I am on has a side effect of anorexia. With my natural inclination over self image to fast and lack of hunger because of stuff cooking can help sometimes because it can whet appetite, or it can do me in because it can turn me off completely.

It is harder than makes sense to just not eat. Although it makes sense to me that not eating doesn't help it also doesn't make sense to me that not eating doesn't help: conditioning is very powerful, and conditioning with help from medication almost irresistible.

Seriously, that stupid master cleanse runs through my head all the time because 'I'd be getting lemon juice and syrup'. Its really easy to slip in to the mindset of eating disorder, which is the last thing I need, to be the fattest anorexic on the planet. :o

Its very very testing ATM though. So I'm just plugging away.

I'm hoping I can get mussels tomorrow. I'd like mussels.

    Oh I am sorry bugs.

Its so sad, I think it was inevitable, but such an awful situation. Your poor friends. :(. Big dog is't far behind. I've taken her off the second of two meds, the one she dislikes, so she can enjoy what's left more. Ironically pretty sure she has cushings but not going to bother testing or medicating.

Yes, tiny pellets - either navy or black, with occasional red/raspberry ones.

The box has two sections: section one, they enter into, that's clear. Section two contains the bait. The two sections are separated with a strip of plastic, that's got a 2-3" gap. She fills the bait side and the plastic strip holds it all in place, with it cascading down towards the gap, with a few bits of bait falling into the clear side.

If I picked it up and shook it ... the bait bits would fall out as it'd go through the gap, into the clear section, then fall out of the furry entrance.

Ok, neither thing I was thinking, small pellet poison. :D In the bait section, in a residential area I thought they would be confined to bait blocks that get locked in, like I described to you. In case of pets or children. E.g. I am not able to use those in my farm yards. ( nor would I) but I can in my feed rooms and internal buildings where no kids or pets should wander unaccompanied. More effective than covered grain I guess :). They don't need to eat much to kill them, really a surprisingly small amount. My guess is a fair few have already snuffed it if a lot of bait has gone. :)

Just try to think of the benefits to your health of eating; lemon and maple syrup is not food.

    Mussels sounds good:T

I'm of the same mind as you, I don't believe in dragging things out after a certain point; dogs seem to mind less than we do.
