It's lovely with honey and lime.

I ate too much porridge. I cannot move......I might need to sleep it off.

On the rice crispy treats didn't mean to offend people who like them.....I think they just taste of sugar though...or the honey varity taste harsh on the throat, but the crunch is appealing. The sesame depth adds real taste to something quick and easy and no cook, so good idea for five minute things for table fillers. ( not my idea btw, Internet find)

Eta: dog dog loved it too.....she ate the rest :)

Bugslet provided the idea for something I can eat.

Amazing, porridge with tahini. Its so good. So good. SO GOOD. For people with sweet teeth a drizzle of honey and a squirt of lime might work with the tahini. I'm going to try line near the end, then honey on last spoon.

I make those gruesome rice crispy treats with tahini and honey and they are actually nice then. :)

I love oatbran with apple chopped in. Oatbran tastes better than porridge, and it's healthier. I must try tahina instead of apple.

Why is it tahina for some people and tahini for others?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I like the texture of porridge, and barn and me are a no go ATM. Even porridge is dicey. :).

I make stewed apple for porridge though and spice it up and dollop it on and add a dollop of yoghurt and we call that capital breakfast.

I love stewed apples and happily just eat that!

I'm just looking at my prescription for my glasses. I have a 3.75 dioptres cylinder. We seem to have banned natural selection from our society, so instead of being eaten by a sabre tooth tiger that I didn't see creeping up on me, I have lived and passed on my astigmatic genes to the next generation.

No idea. My tub, just checked, says tahina. Maybe its just a word I misuse? :D. Its not like the English language doesn't do that a lot :)

Oatbran is different from wheatbran. More digestible, but I expect that you know what your digestion can take. :)

Thanks for the reminder that I need to go and pick some apples.

More digestible does sound better, and we have oat bran......oh, unless it went in the weevil bish. Took me ages to find porridge today:o

Tahina is Arabic/Persian whereas tahini is Western/Greek.

Eaten a lot......what does that mean......was the bait empty? That should never happen, how much was left?

No, it wasn't empty. There was probably about 3/4 of it left, although I didn't see her fill it in the first instance. I saw her top it up (but didn't know there'd be a test, so wasn't taking notes), I'd guesstimate she refilled it with ... er ... 200-250ml level of a measuring jug? Might have been a bit more. It was a big jug and, as I said, I wasn't taking notes. She scooped about 1/3 of a jug from her big bucket, then poured some in - and there was still a lot left in her jug when she did the box up again.

I told her it looked like there were more "trails" under the fence and she said "they're all coming for it"

For those cooking without tahini ... it's suggested peanut butter can be used for hummous. Could you make porridge/peanut butter 'flapjacks'? Or any kind of flapjacks, so you've always got a box of "something to eat" when you don't feel up to it.
