He has had a couple of outbursts at home and has shut himself off a little more than usual but nothing that I didn't expect.

    Excellent news. :)

Hope things go well with the OT on Tuesday.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    <sigh>

    Annoying, relatives like that!

    .

My impression was that the entire NDG family was like that. In awe of the lot of you!

I had a list of three jobs to do.
    Defrost the freezer.
    Put up the succah.
    Mow the lawn.

This was two weeks ago, and I've done the indoor job. The freezer. In the meantime, everything outside is thoroughly wet. The lawn is a foot high and unmowable.

It's not made any better knowing that your dad has probably mowed 400 acres in that time.

I've hgad a busy weekend!:D I have neglected our visible from space hedge for the last three years and by the time I scraped myself together this year, the birds were nesting in it, so it continued to grow. It's 93' long, 10' high and 5-6 'wide:eek:, or it was; about a third of it is demolished and the fence is going up. The rest will disappear over the next fortnight. I have been bitten and scratched by heavens knows what animals in the hedge.

Down in Herts for the remainder of the week:)

Week 2 of the gym and actually trying to regain some basic level of fitness. I'm starting to see some definite improvement. I'm on a recumbent bike at the mo.

Last Monday within 3 minutes my heart rate had shot up to 155 bpm (pretty toppy for a 43 y/o). Today it took 12 minutes to get to that level, it hovered in the low 140s for about 10 minutes which is where I want it on a static bike.

Tomorrow I'm going to try pedaling. ;)

Hadn't been actively looking, but had thought it had all gone quiet on the furry front.... last saw one small furry bum disappearing round the back of the shed on Saturday night I think .... so, stepped out this morning, pacing round the patio and spotted some beady eyes looking at me...... one furry spotted! It was a small one though..... trap's been down 4 days now. No idea what, if anything, it contains.... there's no way, even with a big stick, I'll be poking that.

Rat lady should have told you what was in the box, I.e. Chemical or trp, and which poison she used, presuming poison. This is so that if you decide to supplement you use the same poison this year And a different one next year.

How does this work? If there are say a dozen rats under or near the shed, you can't hope to trap or poison them all. Is it enough just to kill a few, and the rest get the hint? Maybe they realise that it's an unhealthy area for them and simply move on?

    Trap no poison yes.

The 30 fee usually covers up to four visits, by visit three there will be, in normal circus, no or few takers if the rat lady has evaluated and dosed correctly. If she they are still tAking like fiends on visit four then if I were PN I would be raising and issue to say it were a community issue and further action ( not at her cost) should be taken) . At the end of the visits on will be advised how to proceed at her costs, including probably buying a poison box or two, and alternating poisons, but this should be stated more than once, beginning and end. Its hugely important issue in vermin control.

I saw a little furry whilst I was out with Doglet, this morning. Doglet took absolutely no interest. I think she'd rather be at home reading a book than chasing furries.

It's a lovely day. Probably best to make the most of this weather, whilst it lasts.

    That made me laugh!

This morning 2 notable things have happened

    1) My business cards have arrived. Never had any before - so it feels quite strange.

    2) Arrived into the office to find out I'd already been 'chosen' for a table at our end of year do. Thus somehow avoiding having to try and find some people who might not mind adopting me for their table!

    :)
