Don't quote, will delete. This (even though she's not in dungarees) is my all time fave pic of them when they were little:

Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Ah! Sweet!
Lovely kids. You must be very proud. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Thanks. They're still lovely kids, but not quite as cute as they were then!!Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Some people like kittens and puppies. That's fine. I prefer cats and dogs really. They are still a bite cute, but your kids are wonderful, they have beautiful complexities and intricacies that aren't really compatible with pure 'cute'.0 -
It should still have had its locking bolts put in before transport and removed when it had arrived. But perhaps its previous owners didn't keep them?
I got it from a British Heart Foundation shop. Only people who are organised and keeping the machine would do that. Most people wouldn't have kept them - and cheap/second hand machines won't have them.0 -
lir, you are lovely!PasturesNew wrote: »I got it from a British Heart Foundation shop. Only people who are organised and keeping the machine would do that. Most people wouldn't have kept them - and cheap/second hand machines won't have them.
Well, for every WM I've had, I've always kept the bolts on top of the machine - under the counter where they're out of the way. I've used them when I've moved house, and If I were giving the machine away I would put them in. I am clearly not "most people" - but then I never have been anyway! Maybe I am odd.
But then I've never given a WM away - I've always used them until they've died.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I don't really think of you as a typical "most people" person, but in this respect at least, you seem to be.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? When DS2 was home this Summer, he would text me requesting a cup of tea be delivered to his bedroom. I would deliver and we would sit and chat in his half awake stage. I did warn him I was not delivering tea for two when the GF came to stay!My car has a foam thingy, but no spare. I did not even try the foam, as there was a hole the size of a 50p piece in the side of the tyre. The roof collapses back into the boot, and having a spare tyre would take up nearly all the rest of the space. Plus a foam thingy costs the manufacturers far less than a spare. Plus it's lighter, so helping the mpg figures. It's just a gigantic PITA if you have a problem! Fine until then, of course.
Mine had that but I bought a space saver spare that fits in the boot well.

Cheers for pointing that out, that one slid right past me... I didn't know any roofs went into the boot! Mine stays on top - handy to keep the rain off my head and to stop louts lobbing whole cartons of milkshake into the car0
