It was difficult to spot anything after I'd squirted that washing up liquid in my eye!
;) (that's what I looked like for the rest of the afternoon)

I should have charged you for that: Wanton misuse of resources.

He had a great time, made even better by getting the train home afterwards, just me and he (I sent The Girl off ahead on the bus with Grandma and Granddad).

I went to the gym for the first time since I started radiotherapy. I'm really unfit now. In December 2013 I was riding 2 hours a day, an hour each way to and from work. Today I did 15 minutes on a reclining static bike on level 5 of 20 and was a mess. My stomach muscles are killing me!

Never mind, I'll build it back up.

Congrats on Generalissimo singing in such an amazing looking place, glad he enjoyed it. Sometimes these occasions can be a bit overwhelming when they're young(ish).

Very glad indeed to hear that you're feeling well enough to go back to the gym. :j  Just try to not overdo it - slow and steady! ;) Soak in a nice hot bath (or do they have jacuzzi at gym?) for the muscle pain. I'm sure you'll get back to peak fitness fast! :)

    Most of haul: <snip>

Wow, PN, you did really well there - it's all going to look so good in your room, and the colours are spot on! :j Really like the pattern on the curtain too - hope it fits the room you have in mind for it. So glad you found a decent car boot sale for a change! :) I'm a bit late replying as thought I'd replied already... But I must have been recalling telling OH about your successful shopping trip. :o

To catch up with my news...

Car passed MOT fine, and we've been in touch with Motability and it's OK for me to keep it for a further 2 years as it's low mileage.

Dentist has plans to crown one tooth and build up all the rest as he says they are all very worn. He seems very nice, was dreading it a bit after having Nice Lady Dentist for a few years who was so gentle and kind. So 4 weeks work in all! Starting early November, hopefully will be finished before Xmas!

Have somehow lost internet on my desktop, though email still working. Been meaning to get new laptop for ages anyway, so down to John Lewis on Sat afternoon and spent rather more than perhaps I should have. :o :rotfl: :rotfl: But pleased with it, and it means I can use computer in bed again, plus when we head for London it'll be easy to transport. I know the next thing I'm going to try on the desktop to attempt to get it working again, but am having a day off today as knackered from overdoing things (pack and travel on Thursday, dentist Friday, JL Saturday). Had planned to go to lottie this afternoon, but I just can't face digging today! :o

Having a back door is incredible. It will be even more so when it has furniture and locks and stays closed and stuff.

Today, having done laundry it smells fabulous in there, and when I gave dogs supper just now I pulled the bottom door to, so they just got stuck out side instead of me telling them to stay outside. Less discipline but still, so easy!

    Ah, PN, how sweet! :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Pn, call the council. Seriously. It doesn't matter 'whose' rats they are just deal with them and feel happier. I know more Mse ways but I will not share them as they are utterly Inhumane. So tough.

That's the thing, they are, one on one. And clever, and admirable. They've eat through concrete floors and concrete block walls here.

That's pretty formidable and worthy of admiration IMO.

And they have sweet faces. But with no neighbour hood cats / measure ments in place the problem an only get ' bigger'.

I did - it's an online form to report them. They're still out there, chomping away .... sometimes dashing out to grab bits... and sometimes boldly sitting on the lawn.

Bit blurry - cameraphone on 3.3x zoom then cropped ... while I was shaking :)

As a matter of interest, late at night do you see them round other people's bins at all?

Where would be the nearest water sources for them? Rats need water, not just food and shelter

I've not looked. All bins here are big plastic/lidded ones, mostly in people's gardens behind solid 6' fences. Nearest water ... no idea.... must be 1/2 a mile away, although depends what you call water.... I don't know, say, if a house in the next road has a pond.... or a dripping outside tap, or a water feature.

There's nothing for them here. I have very little food waste - and I take it by hand to the local tip (1/2 a mile away) ... no outside tap, no water that lingers.

I cut that edging earlier today as LIR said keep the grass cut .... so I thought I'd "shave" it down closer to the shed.... and that's what the cheeky farquers are scoffing!
