It is sort of a two person job but a lot can be achieved by person 1 leaning on the front at the top to try and tilt the machine back to take the pressure off the front feet which can then be screwed in/out as required to do the levelling. Can you get your fingers on top to either front corner to see if you can rock the machine slightly easily as this would be a clear sign that it was not level.

I may have had one too many wines. You need to re-read your own post as if someone else had written it and you were appraising it.

Sounds like brilliant, free fun if you have no washing machine.

It's ludicrous. The actual one they were trying to sell us was £1,350. I only wanted to see how big they were when they folded up. Whatever we get it won't be that as (a) it wasn't second hand and (b) the chances of ever getting it through a door way appear negligible.

My suggestion to OH was to buy two second hand mclaren things for £30 each and wire them together. She was not impressed.

You may hve to wait for another pregnancy. She'll be fine with that idea once the reality of what one thinks one needs and what one actually uses is able to process. By the third pregnancy they'll be sleeping in a drawer.

Point is, nothing is used for long. They grow and start doing stuff before you know it.

... and powder's in the left hand hole of two. The smaller one ...

If using the drawer, the powder for the main wash always goes in the biggest compartment.
I did wonder if it was uneven/too little... especially with two pairs of jeans.... not that mine are big jeans, but they'd still hold water.

Jeans get very heavy when wet and unbalance the machine unless the drum is properly full with a whole load.

I took lots of stuff to the hospice shop. Whilst parking the car, I gashed the tyre on the kerb. This car has no spare, so I had to go home to call the RAC, then go back to the car and hang around. They got the car home, and tomorrow a mobile fitter will call to fit a new tyre. The tyre will cost (PN look away!) £150, which is really annoying.

Why doesn't it have a spare? I thought all cars had to have a spare or alternative arrangements.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I've just seen that chewy's buggy costs £1200. That's crazy.

Twin stuff is always much more expensive than single stuff because it's a limited market.
But I bet there's a "pecking order" of who will speak to you, who will invite you round, who will be seen speaking to you, who will be seen socialising with you ..... solely based on your buggy.

Not at anything I ever took my babies to. :)

I wouldn't rush, when they are very little they could share a pram.

Usual thing for babies these days is not to have a pram as such at all. You have a chassis onto which you can fit the car seat (or seats in chewy's case). The the baby can go direct from car to buggy without having to be strapped and unstrapped and woken up etc. When they're a bit bigger they have a much cheaper more lightweight buggy and a bigger car seat that stays strapped in the car even when the child's not in it.

Note the unpacking and levelling at the start #3. Asks you to remove locking screws after transportation, this will cause lots more noise if not done PN!

Would the drum turn at all if the locking screws were still in place?

Feeling more positive about things. I've felt for ages that I'm constantly fire fighting and trying to catch up to where I should be, but now, while my new status as unemployed isn't great, I feel like whatever I do I'm getting ahead, if that makes sense? Like my life is a blank canvas, I'm not behind with things, like it's an opportunity. Feels pretty good really.

That's good news. Glad to hear you are feeling better about things. :)

They may have that foam spray stuff / run flat tyres - doesn't do much good if the tyre is completely split/shredded.

It should still have had its locking bolts put in before transport and removed when it had arrived. But perhaps its previous owners didn't keep them?

My mother said something similar - that if your first child swallows a coin, you rush him to A & E. IF the second one does, you keep an eye on him in a vague way. If the third swallows it, you knock it off his pocket money.

Taking James back to uni today, although I will miss him, I will not miss the piles of clothes, the empty coke bottles and the constant running around/phone calls asking to be picked up.

Put on your big girl pants, Sue - he's 20! Let him sort himself out, organise his own transport, and so forth. You're the Mum of a young adult, not his personal slave / taxi service / clothes-washing wallah.
