I believe usb is backward compatible so a usb3 drive will also work with usb2 just slower and then be faster if you ever upgrade to usb3I think....0

Anybody else watching The Real Noah's Ark on Channel 4? Half way through now. Interesting.
Edit: I posted the above, now here's the story to date: A bloke (Simmons) was in the middle east in the war and collected bits/bobs from random markets. Didn't think anything of it. Came back here and shoved it all in a box in his house. A bloke made a lifelong study of the Babylonian language and is one of the only people in the world that can read it and he was on duty the day that a man walked into the museum with a bunch of old stuff in a carrier bag and asked them what is it/do you want it?
He read it and immediately realised it pre-dates any other Ark references by about 1700 years ..... and it gave a materials list for how to build one. Instructions weren't on that piece of tablet though.
So he put together a team - tasked with building an ark using those materials and to those dimensions - which is half the size of a football field.0 -
Someone has just offered to trim our laurel again for us, it hasn't been touched since they last collected some clippings two years ago.....I think....0

Zag, these drives come up on HUKD all the time. There's a 1tb USB 3 drive for £43. Would that suit?I believe USB is backward compatible so a USB3 drive will also work with usb2 just slower and then be faster if you ever upgrade to usb3
They'd have to be, to be any use for me. I need to check if my mac's got USB 1 or 2. I think I've got some USB 2 installed on it via a card I fitted. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

If you don't want to fiddle with the buttons, try running your next wash on programme 6, 11 or 12 as they are limited to 600rpm regardless of whether you press the button by the looks of things.
Note the unpacking and levelling at the start #3. Asks you to remove locking screws after transportation, this will cause lots more noise if not done PN!When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0 -

I think we might need an estate. We also need another reception room in our house to keep a double buggy in.
When you get buggies and car seats, rehearse using them. It makes us dads look a lot less like we're trying to put up a deckchair in M. Hulot goes to the beach. Sorry, generational update, Mr Bean goes on holiday. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Evening all
I've got some work tomorrow! Back into uni to help out with freshers; think it's just admin stuff (which I can massively embellish on my CV), showing people round, giving directions, checking forms are filled in properly etc. It's paid too, which is handy. Hopefully it'll lead to more later in the week.
Feeling more positive about things. I've felt for ages that I'm constantly fire fighting and trying to catch up to where I should be, but now, while my new status as unemployed isn't great, I feel like whatever I do I'm getting ahead, if that makes sense? Like my life is a blank canvas, I'm not behind with things, like it's an opportunity. Feels pretty good really.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. If you're open at all to the idea of a Renault I can highly recommend the Grand Scenic. Seats 7 at a push, but the back 2 spares sink into the floor I think (would have to check with OH as he does it all despite it being "my car"). Great thing for me is wheelchair (collapsed sideways) fits in without having to take wheels off, so is fast to put it together when needed. Has the IsoFix stuff for kids seat fixing in back. It's a tall car, so prob yer bugaboo donkey would fit in, though I have to say I'm wondering what the ???? that is! :rotfl:0 -

My suggestion to OH was to buy two second hand mclaren things for £30 each and wire them together. She was not impressed.
LOL, I wouldn't have been impressed either if I was expecting twins! :rotfl: I'm not sure what DD2 had for the GrandTwins when they were small, I'll ask next time we speak. Have half a feeling she might have had something second hand or gifted when they were little, but maybe something newer and better when they got bigger.I wouldn't rush, when they are very little they could share a pram.
But mostly folks don't buy prams these days - you get the buggy base and have a prammy thing that fits on top to start with, followed by the push chair stuff that fits on same base... Or something like that - this is just from seeing what my DDs have had over the last 4 years or so with the grandkids. When you get buggies and car seats, rehearse using them. How lovely to see a mention of M. Hulot! One of my Dad's fave films... Well, think there were 3?
Definitely agree with rehearsing using car seats though. We had to do a swift change from the Skoda to the Renault as DD and family leaving Abersoch holiday when the Skoda had probs and OH had to drive them all back to Liverpool in the Renault... Had some difficulty getting the child seat in and tightened up sufficiently. (this was DD with just 1 kiddliwink)0
