Not sure if that one person was meant to be me, but I've rarely let that stop me replying
teehee, wasn't actually, but the more the better. Of course I know more than a few of us here have it!
I think this happens a lot - conditions seem kind of similar and there is not enough known to separate them so they get lumped together until people start investigating more and finding differences.
a lot of the endocrine conditions group and are hard to tell apart, so pcos, thyroid, a small bunch of pituitary and adrenal stuff, a couple of hypothylymus issues, or , is you are lucky, complications with a number of the above! :rotfl:
Having PCOS with no actual ovarian cysts - I guess (and definitely a guess) maybe if someone has e.g. elevated hormone levels as seen in PCOS they might have similar symptoms etc.i guess so. You need two out of the three things for diagnosis, cysts, hormone elevations, and symptoms. So, yeah. Seems weird though. My first thought ( as someone who worked with the complications of hormones and research funding a lifetime ago) is that a pcos label is cheaper than the other investigations for the other potential causes
I think the weight thing is linked to hormones too - more fat = more oestrogen or something along those lines.
Yes, that's it. Of course weight is linked to this same cluster of conditions. Pcos is by far the most likely of most of them, then thyroid mis functions, the first won't kill one, the second we have acceptable remedy for.0 -
Trying not to swamp thread with photos of terrace so only uploading two to photo bucket.
taking ages though.
Think the space for a table is massive for the little breakfast table I've got to put out there!
While I popped out to day I saw a sofa for pn.0 -
Wow lir - that looks fabulous.
I like the shape of that sofa. And...err... that's about all I can say really. Doesn't look comfy for curling up on.0 -

Thanks nikkster! Wonder how long it will look so......barren.....but......neat!!
Once we have it planted up we'll see.
We have more plans there too actually. We'd like to slid some mirrors over the breeze block behind the pears ( so lower few feet) and throw light around a little. Its air conditioned in summer ( by the air source pumps) but will probably be ruddy freezing in winter now, though we have a slight offsetting feature to that.0 -
There's a huge problem at Lidl ..... I've just got back from there and it seems if you go in with a list of: Milk, cheese, furniture polish, fruit squash .... there's a hidden twilight zone where your trolley is filled with: crisps, peanuts, chocolate covered raisins, sour fruit jellies, fake Bounty bars (big bag of), mini cheesecakes and 24 cans of Pepsi!0
