Is it just you coming over? Or the whole family?
And can we arrange another NP meet while you're here?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Fir and I slept like the dead last night.
Fell asleep immediately ( even as a champion sleeper I can linger about a bit at proper sleeping time) and found getting up this morning really shockingly awful.
Having been freezing the night before ( I had to put cats over my chest to relieve to too cold pain) I was use perfect last night.
In fact, if you could bottle the perfect nights sleep, last night was it. No waking up fir either, enjoying sleeping far too much.0 -
I try to be zen about possessions and mostly not that fussed, they are transient objects that's all.
I really miss the VX220 and the F88 though - so the zen thing needs a bit more work.:o
The VX220 seems to be a contortionist's car. How on earth did you get into it? The other is a Volvo truck?
Edit.. The F88 is also a rifle, which might come in useful for drivercide. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Hello and welcome to the BBC's live coverage of the verdict in the trial of South African athlete Oscar Pistorius.
This is so inappropriate. They are treating it like a circus, and at the end of it the lady judge will hold her thumb up or down.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
All of us are coming and a NP meet-up sounds splendid to me.0

It was a contortionists car, I had a friend that used to crawl out of it and friends that never attempted to get in at all, but she was a joy to drive unlike most cars, which you just kind of point and sit there.
Brownie points on the truck; one ( 1977) sold at auction a couple of years ago after extenisve restoration work for 53k, many many times the original value. You may recall, I have a bit heavier artillery for the drivercide.
Really, most of my drivers are mint, with the occasional bad day!
Happy Birthday Miss Gen.0 -

I saw the headline of a (DM?) 'article' where somebody said that jails in Pretoria were waiting to see where he was sent as the jails are rife with gay-raping people who would love to get their hands on the butt-hole of a 'star'

It makes you wonder what chance we have of controlling crime/violence in the streets, when people aren't even safe when in a locked jail, being watched!0 -

I can understand that business requires having the latest trucks etc. Why did you get rid of the vx220? Definite lack of room for the dogs, of course. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Well, it was the dogs really. I have an incredibly scruffy 55 plate ex GPO van that I use for the mutts and they come with me to work, then it seemed a bit of a faff, to walk round to the back drive to get the VX out if I was just shopping, so the last year I had it, it went out about 10 times. It was a waste really. The bloke I sold it to, picked up a speeding ticket the day after he bought it:o.
It was fascinating to see how other road users responded to the different vehicles; it seems the type of vehicle you drive really must say something about you:whistle:
On the subject of trucsk, I actually run vehicles for a long time, as we don't do heavy mileage. Difference between a 54 and a 64 plate Scania, minimal - they'll do a million kms no problems.0
