If you read the British media, the oceans around Ozzie-Land are bright red

That was on the news over here too and I feel sorry for him. You're almost certainly more likely to die driving to the beach than you are of being eaten to death by a shark. They get about one person a year on average.

They're not even trying to eat you. Shark 'attacks' on swimmers are almost always by juveniles who are investigating what you are. Their mouths are their most sensitive area but unfortunately are also full of razor sharp teeth.

Leave here 18th Dec, come back mid-Jan. It's going to be an absolute scorcher this summer apparently. We're looking at the possibility of moving to the area directly South of Sydney known as the Illawarra. That would be great in s hot summer, living by the beach. I could have a dip in the ocean before work some mornings.

I hope I mentioned it before but our house will be empty some of the time you are over and we would feel more comfortable if someone were around to house sit....
    I think....

Speaking of incomprehensible swearwords, I've always wondered if the IKEA naming system is maybe based on foul swear words in their language and they just love keeping a straight face while we discuss their merits.
I'll ask my DD, who is a Swedish/English (and Finnish/English) translator.

PN, love your new chair. How about pale sky blue cushion(s) for it? I agree that it looks like wet sand, it's light enough to still fit your beach colours in my view. Match the blue to the one in your curtains?

I'll just have to see what I stumble across. The cost of cushions is horrendous - imho out of step with what you're getting ... so it'll be awhile before I stumble across something that [a] I like isn't expensive. No worries, I'm happy for it to be "as is" anyway.

:rotfl:Watching thing on Channel 4 "All Creatures Great and Stuffed" it's quite funny!

I saw that. Some years ago there was a Museum of Curiosities that was auctioned off - which was a vast collection/museum of posed/dressed animals some bloke had created in about 1850 - they were available to view at Jamaica Inn, Bodmin, Cornwall. I was working for a pro photographer at the time who had a booking from the DM to attend and take photos, so I saw a lot of photos of the exhibits.

They are called dioramas when displayed like that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamaica_Inn#Mr_Potter.E2.80.99s_Museum_of_Curiosities

... Wink ... is on her last few weeks ...
There is a 3k op but the chances of her being cured are very slim so it could make her last few weeks even worse. The vet was very sensitive and we took her advice that we monitor her weight and mood and call her when we feel she is unhappy / too ill to enjoy life (in cat terms).
    Awww - I'm sure she'll be missed :(

Love that chair PN..it looks really comfy too.

It's OK to sit in, but if you want to curl up like a dog then it will need more cushions :) Being round it does feel "dog basket like"

She also doesn't want us to move and got upset about that as well...

Awww - it is unsettling when good neighbours leave - and it's poor timing from her perspective.

    :(
