Re; Rat.......DD came home to find a huge one in the hallway with Ginger sat beside it all pleased with himself...even though he didn't catch it himself.
OH was only 5 mins behind and he picked it up, said it weighed the same as Wink.
Wink, our mini tabby is the rodent hunter/ eater and she must have brought it in earlier.. Sadly, she is on her last few weeks (if that) as the results from her ultrasound this week confirm her liver is full of shadows (probably tumours) and her bile duct is swollen / damaged.
DD is devastated as she is 'her' cat and we have had her for over 14 years.
As I am pretty 'up' on liver disease I knew about 4 weeks back something was wrong, yellow saliva marks on the pillows, sudden weight loss (but eating a lot) drinking a lot.
There is a 3k op but the chances of her being cured are very slim so it could make her last few weeks even worse. The vet was very sensitive and we took her advice that we monitor her weight and mood and call her when we feel she is unhappy / too ill to enjoy life (in cat terms).Doozergirl wrote: »So I phoned Tepilo and paid to put the house on the market. Now I need a rocket up my bum to clear that office once and for all and deep clean the bathrooms
I'm doing the photos as well.
We seriously considered using them..it's S Beeneys site isn't it? Then we chickened out as I was concerned about us not negotiating a price / offer properly and not being able to keep a chain together...mainly as this isn't something we've ever done before.
Now we wish we had done it with them after all as I can't see what the EA is getting such a fat fee for.
Actually, our whole house selling thing is a PITA..........and our sheet just came through from our vendor and they are removing all the lights, cooker (which they said was staying) and even the wood in the log store (?!) even though they won't have an open fire in their new place. Tight wads methinks. Our old house following various works we only really got finished and decorated in order to sell having already found where we wanted to buy. It isn't really recommended as a way to live but it seems our current house is going the same way.....
.....I just wish I could pick ours up and put it next to one to use for work and by the sea somewhere. The last few weeks have been heaven....living in a fully finished done up house. I think it's the 1st time ever in my life...and I'm 51 now.lostinrates wrote: »Hadn't had appointment when Lydia asked how it had gone, but was in appointment town.
Went ok. Cried like usual so calm didn't last.
More tests, more discussion about how I'm a freak, but this time he is quite positive about it. He's on the side of having a bash at cutting bits of me about and seeing what happens if I'm game for it.
.....what bits? Hope you are feeling OK.
Good luck to Chewy on both things...GB I didn't know a baby was due yet? Is it?0 -
We had some Tiramisu tonight. Very nice. NOM x 2, probably. What is extraordinary about it is that it came in a package labelled Waitrose Essential Tiramisu. What sort of madhouse are we in where a dessert is essential?
Love that chair PN..it looks really comfy too.0 -
....and just in general (as I use NPT to offload the crud that comes up in my life
) my lovely neighbour called me for a chat over the fence yesterday pm (which is why we keep the plants that side low.....some house buying viewers found it odd that we did that) and she began to get upset.......
and her OH (they are both mid 70's) had just been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus ...and it's quite far gone.
They had a holiday booked (to Benidorm...and yes the show has people like my neighbours on it ) and doc told them to go anyway.....and treatments etc would be discussed when they returned.
We had noticed his weight loss and also their garden was getting more and more overgrown (not that that bothers us but it was a sign that he was unwell as the garden is 'his' job)...so OH and myself will spend a day in it whilst they are away.
She also doesn't want us to move and got upset about that as well...0 -
Heard from Spirit by text - she's feeling upset and low, but has some slight movement in her left hand. I sent her all the NP love from us all.chewmylegoff wrote: »Hopefully will find out about job tomorrow. Big day for other reasons as well so if you have any spare positive vibes then I would appreciate them, although obviously most positive vibes need to go elsewhere at the moment!
Very best of luck chewy!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Good luck chewy and LIR.
Hi Spirit, hope the recovery is continuing. Sending positive vibes from a very spring-like Sydney.0 -

Great news - hope he's pleased?
DS is very pleased. And that means we're all pleased.
He still has another GCSE to re-take. But so it goes.:AThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Evening all positive vibes for those who need them.
Did I mention the transmission on my car went? Unfortunately it means I'm getting rid of it. Scrap people are coming tomorrow
It's just an expensive luxury at the moment. Would cost hundreds to fix, or get to a point where I could sell it for a few hundred. Tax is due next month. So it's just not worth it sadly. It's a massive shame because I really love that car.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
How did he find his new place of learning? ISTR you had some minor anxieties about how he might adjust to it?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Wonders of wonders, I have found a doctor at my surgery who actually understands and knows about EDS/hypermobility and the ramifications of it (new doctor at the practice)
He referred me to an OT today and changed my pain medication to something more suitable. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
