Where is it leaking from? (Bear in mind I'm humouring you and am unlikely to have an answer)

From inside the dishwasher onto the floor.

    :)

Erm, the water appears to be getting forced out around the top of the door. The seal doesn't look rotten so I'm hoping it just shut funny and it will be ok next time if I ignore it and do nothing.

Effing dishwasher is leaking. I don't have a landlord to ring, I'll have to sort it out myself. I've tried opening and closing it a couple of times and kicking it a bit. My repair skills are exhausted...

Yeah, I'd go with that diagnosis.

A little. I've had to be very well behaved when I'd really rather not have been this afternoon :I

It would help you identify if it was poisonous though!

    Beware! :naughty:

Got some good news, though. DS got a GCSE re-marked and went up a grade. Which means he's just got one to retake, so can start a full-time level 3 course tomorrow, instead of a worrying mix of level 2/level 3 stuff.

Check the waste pipe (the grey crinkly one) is in place and hasn't cracked and that the water pipe is tightly screwed on at both ends first. Those are the most likely causes of your woes and very simple to check.

Also using rinse aid and all in one tablets can cause a leak.

And when ours leaked, I ran a damp cloth around the seal to remove crud. Amazingly enough, that worked.

"The grey crinkly one" - one day, that will be you. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

... and with only a 260 mile round trip, it's worth checking in every day :)

    See: Nikkster's cooker.

My sympathies to you and your OH. I wish I'd known that home-ownership isn't just about the groin thrusting and G&Ts :(
