Thanks for the further details. Tried to look at your pic again but you took it down? Anyway, from what I remember of it it might be the one on this page. Boletus impolitus.0 -

Says he'll do it tomorrow, either first thing or this sort of time.
:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:jDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Let it cool down and try again.
If you go for another one, get one that is quiet - nothing worse than a noisy kettle.
It was cool before. I've just tried it again and it does the same thing.... so it's new kettle time.
I was just going to buy another £10 kettle, supermarket basics. Noise doesn't bother me - it doesn't take long to boil and I don't boil it often (2-3x a day). I've only ever encountered a few hideously, scarily, noisy kettles - they seem to invariably be the shiny/steel ones with the flat disc of "plastic" as the heating element. They "pop" like they're going to explode!0 -

Not very helpful then .... alternators whip off with just a spanner .... but then so do most parts in older vehicles.... so it's something mechanical as something electrical he'd have talked of looms and needing an expert to take a look ... and it could cost a lot if the whole loom needs replacing. But he didn't. So it's a piece of metal under the bonnet that he'll replace... I bet.0 -
Ok - I'll have a go...
Any dead birdies/ other creatures nearby?

Temperature tonight is perfect. Everything feels really beautiful. I can just catch occasional very, very feint scent of smoke, so a few people in valley have lit fires tonight, plus smell of earth and plants ....not autumnal yet like fallen leaves and mushrooms and toffee apples, but certainly richer, darker scents starting.
That's so evocative. Lovelylostinrates wrote: »'What the bloody hell have you done to this? Didn't know it was possible to do this, but, quick to replace at least'

No, I didn't take it down, it's still there.
Yes, that looks like it, except mine's completely rounded/domed on top ... but maybe that's about size, rather than being a different species.0 -

A little. I've had to be very well behaved when I'd really rather not have been this afternoon :I
It would help you identify if it was poisonous though!0 -
