    Is it Friday yet?

I'm not cut out for a career in politics.

On the upside, curry for dinner tonight :)

We can call it Friday if that helps.
I bet there are some magnificent curries near to you, due to the ethnicity of a lot of the locals. They're rubbish here.

You at least have the option of phoning for one - being based where you are, chances are yours are top quality too. As I've already said, they're rubbish round here - phoning for one's not an option.

I love indian food - and have, so far, tried about 3 of the takeaways round these parts.... disappointed by them all, so loathe to keep widening the search area and trying more. Also, curries are "a treat", so that means they can only be ordered/eaten on a Friday-Sunday.

I'm not sure I could call for one. There are a lot of good restaurants though - I didn't like curry until I went to Birmingham, now I love it.

There's a really good restaurant here that does an all you can eat on a Monday for £9.50. I'm missing half my family, though. Doozer has gone to see a potential client for next year and DS is at school all the time now. I think the earliest we can collect him is realistically going to be 8pm. He's already asked his dad if he can board.

That's a good price. I'd like to have/make a full list of this sort of deal round my way - I see them when I'm out and about, but when you're driving past it's hard to spot the price and days/hours etc. Many are £16-17 though. At £9.50 it's reasonable, to me. My regular takeaway is a veggie biryani for £7, which is enough for two meals.... so to even think about paying much more for an all you can eat seems nuts.

Do it. It was good :) Even if it was just reheated leftover supermarket stuff (no rice before anyone panics about my reheating practices... though I would have and do reheat rice).

Maybe. Though the local speciality is more along the lines of pizza and pasta.

I've actually not been for a curry (takeaway or eat in) since I've moved here. It's either been supermarket or home cooked.

I reheat rice all the time. I just cool it well and straight in the fridge in a plastic box. Even those pouches say "once opened eat within 3 days", so I put half into a plastic box and have that the next day.

My take on supermarket curries is - I have never tasted one that tasted like an indian takeaway - and, £/100g I'm sure the indian gives better value for money.
