Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

There's a window, then 2' of frontage, then my private pathway 2' wide, then a strip of 2', then a brick wall.... the pavement the other side of the wall is about 2' higher than my path (never actually measured it, that's a guess). So then there's the regular footpath, then a regular road - the sort of road that's as wide as two fat lorries being able to just pass.How close to the road is your window?
So .... probably 2+2+2+4 .... + 12? ... so, let's say 25' from the front window .... and I'm inside.... 10'+6'+5'
From here I'm by the rear window ... but with the doors open so I can see out the front and the back at the same time...
Then he's up in his raised cab with nothing to stare/look at except the 2-3 houses he's parked outside.
I should say though - [a] he's just parked up, and he's a full HGV.... it's a no parking zone at that time of day.0 -
