I see what you mean, Pastures. I did a pottery course once. That is still possible to find, but there aren't as many as I expected. And other practical courses are thin on the ground. Whereas, 'personal development', whatever that means, is easy to find.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I've never done, or looked for, pottery ..... but, yes, useful courses for "work" and achieving useful skills are almost non-existent. It's been about aromatherapy, beauty therapy and holistic awareness for years now.

One of the reasons I get annoyed when people on these forums are looking for jobs and posters advise them "do a course" - and I think "er, in what?" ... as if courses are available on every street corner! (Not to mention, affordable and starting next week).

I was prowling through some old newspapers and my eye caught a story of a baby death from burning... so I drilled out the story and read it all.... mother puts twins in a wicker cradle, too close to the fire in the bedroom. Pops out "for 2 minutes", gets home and older daughter runs down stairs to tell mother baby's on fire. Baby dies a week later.

So I read all the court reports etc, to see if anybody thought the mother or the older daughter was at fault. No - accidental death, with a stern wording from the Judge and jury to say "parents should use fireguards and be more careful".

So, then I got a bit "nosier" and tried to Google streetview the house, see if it still existed .... and then I got to thinking "so who did she marry, where's she from then?" .... and at first glance it looks like the mother is my GG-mother's sister!

So, there's a story to dig out, in time!

    For pastures: as discussed

The end bit is not connected so can be shuffled

I know this one is a lot, but its REALLY nice and soft. And a lovely wet sand on a dull day colour. Ok, its not, its beige, but its a beautiful colour nonetheless and velvety and soft. Tbh, if I could have this I might do. :) ( though I would paint the legs)

No, me neither, the velvety one is by far and a way the best, but it is over budget, I know that. I don't know how much the others were.

Prices do not include delivery , nor do they deliver but they do provide numbers of ' man and van' locally.

I have never looked somewhere like that for furniture and tbh, I was surprised. The l shaped one isn't bad at all, its just not velvety soft deliciousness. The third one is a bit bland. But the wet sand velvety softy one is a sofa I could like.

    Colour is already done :)

The paint (+undercoat) for the outside is in the garage :)

I'm thinking of having the inside painted white as I'm not sure what colour the hall/ stairs/ landing is going to be, but I'm pretty sure the skirting boards etc will stay white.

I'd go for white inside - as you say, it matches the rest of the woodwork (and it's the colour of the inside of my front door ;):D )

I have just caught sight of Peter Duncan on Tumble, in a full-body leotard of pinstripe suit design, doing rhythmic gymnastics with the ribbon.

It will take me some time to recover

The British Heart Foundation has a specialist furniture store in (what I think is) Pastures's neck of the wood, though whether or not it is any good I don't know.

Good idea. As someone who has had to cover up coloured skirting boards, I can say it's a lot of effort, especially over dark/bright colours. Doors are even worse.
